I ordered a new blower motor from a GM parts site. Mine was too loud at full speed...think the bearing was going. Anyhow, the one I removed is large and black. The replacement part is smaller and white. It also comes with a ventilation tube. The one I removed doesn't have a ventilation tube whereas the new one does. What do I do? If I use the tube, where does it connect to the car?

I just ordered a genuine GM AC-Delco one from ebay last week. Looks same as the black one. Maybe they shipped you an incorrect one. Probably one for an intrigue or something. Is the bolt pattern even the same?

After diving into the Pontiac Bonneville forums, I have learned a lot about these damned blower motors. The design for the 2000-2001 model year cars (Aurora, Bonneville, LeSabre) was awful under the dash. GM changed the duct work and the blower motor for 2002 forward. (Some info online says 2002 model year forward, some says mid-year 2002 forward, some says mid-year 2001 forward, so who the heck knows). They went from the large black blower motor to the smaller white cage style blower motor. You can go online to different GM parts websites and see the black blower motor recommended, the white blower motor recommended, or both. This doesn't help with clarity. If you buy the white one, it comes with an adapter for the housing. But I read that the smaller white motor doesn't produce the same amount of airflow as the larger black motor. So in the end, you can use the black or the white. Either way they're a complete pain in the ass to get out and put in. If you go with the white one, I think you'll just leave the ventilation tube out of the equation.
