I was watching a troubleshooting video the other day and it showed a data splice block in a GM SUV. Data lines from all the modules ran to this block and it had a "comb" connector that connected them all together. The mechanic showed a scope reading of the data going across the lines reading around 10 volts. He said it should be around 7 volts and the screen showed a lot of garbage signal. So he unplugged the comb connector and it showed a nice square wave signal and around 7 volts. Then he plugged in an octopus harness to connect all the modules back together one by one until he found the offending module that screwed up the volts and signal again. It seems to me that that would be an awesomely easy diagnostic tool since I have a scope. The problem is I can't identify that connector on the Aurora harness in the manual or Alldata. Does anyone know if and where this connector exists on our cars? I'm going treasure hunting under the dash to see if I can find it.

Well I didn't find it under the drivers side lower dash area, but I did discover this. I know the hood has been repainted, you can see the DA swirl marks in it but it looks like it's been in an accident too.

As far as the data lines, I found mine under the drivers seat & carpet.... beige colored wires running front to back.... As far as the pic., that's ur steering knuckle cover for the steering rod.

Yeah, I already repaired the data connector under the seat. I had a LeSabre do the same thing years ago where all door electronics were dead, so I knew about that.

That's funny. You should see the garbage repairs I've seen over the years in guitar tube amps. Wow. And we're dealing with 300-600v DC in those!

FYI gui,
That cover typically gets slit with a utility knife when replacing the the troublesome 'original design' intermediate steering shaft. Not accident related at all.
