Good afternoon everyone, As mentioned in my intro thread, I am working on resurrecting my mother's 1997 Aurora which has been sitting for 7+ years. I pulled out all of the plugs and put some MMO into each of the cylinders to help free up anything that might be sticking. I would like to crank the engine over by hand before using the starter. Any tips on turning the engine over by hand? It is pretty tight on the accessory side of the engine so putting a socket on the harmonic balancer bolt may prove difficult. Honestly, I am not even sure what the rotation direction of the engine is... On a related note, I plan to install new plugs and I've heard the Northstar engines can be a little fussy with plug choice. There are Autolites in there now, I think APP104s. I noticed the body and thread on the plug from the #1 cylinder was a little crusty. Image below. I also found a vacuum solenoid looking thing near the #1 cylinder that maybe has a hose missing? Or maybe that is a vent and everything is great? Also photo below.
