I need a new windshield and there are no shops within 700 miles of me that have access to the rain sensor version of the windshield.
Alldata DIY states "If at anytime communication between the moisture sensor and wiper motor module is lost, the wiper motor module will use the inputs from the windshield wiper/washer switch in the delay positions to operate the wiper motor at continuous variable delay intervals." which I read to mean that if the sensor is disconnected the INT adjustment reverts to a normal intermittent adjustment rather than a rain sense sensitivity adjustment.
Can anyone confirm if that is true?
Thanks

I disconnected the rain sense sensor in my 2001 4.0 a long time ago. The wipers now function as intermittent wipers, which is what I wanted. I never liked the rain sensing feature.

Awesome thanks for the confirmation. Yeah my concern is even if I somehow find the proper windshield (probably for a lot more $$) , making it a normal intermittent seems like a less hassle path than adjusting sensitivity for the rain sense hoping it behaves the way I want.
