My power antenna went belly up. Local GM wanted $155 for the part. Didn't want to install aftermarket because would have to cut and splice in wiring. The Aurora antenna is unique too. It is flush with the body of the car which gives it a sleek look. I found a Chevy dealership that sells discount GM parts! What a novel idea. They are called Lake Chevrolet and their web site is www.trademotion.com/storefront/index.cfm?action=aboutus&siteid=213761. They are cheaper than your local GM dealer. I have not ordered from them so if you do, keep the forum notified of your experience. I bought the antenna from a junkyard (via internet) for $55 including shipping. It was OEM and installed and worked perfectly. SOme things you have to have new and some things (antenna) you don't!

Ok, here is the solution to the power antenna failure. Go to ANTENNAX.COM and order AX05c for the AURORA. It is a complete brand new power antenna with NO need to mess with the radio. You can do it yourself even if you are a beginner. Its custom designed for the Aurora and comes with all the adapters too! And good instructions. The antenna cable from the radio has a male end on it but with this antenna, they give you an adapter so you just have to plug it into the new power antenna with no need to re-run wires to the radio. Best part about it. It is only $29 for the new kit plus shipping. You can get off website or ebay.

Hey I know this is an old thread, but I've got this problem too (power antenna is kaput) and am wondering about the best (i.e. cheapest) solution.
When you all mention "power antenna", are you talking about the motor, mast, and wiring, or only one or the other? I could get mine fixed on my extended warranty for $50 (deductible), but I'll do it myself if I can buy a replacement part cheaper. Mine makes no noise or movements, so I think the motor itself is shot. I can manually move the mast up and down just fine (it's not bent or stuck in position).

antennax.com sells that kit for $29 and it includes EVERYTHING you need. You may want to check the fuse #36 under the backseat. IT is on the passenger side fuse box. this fuse is for the power antenna. If its good, take a multitester and check the relay on the power antenna to make sure the antenna is getting power.

Hmm, maybe I'll give that a try. Has anyone tried this repair that can share its degree of difficulty? ted, do you work for that company or something?
