thanks,,,, im getting the radio for $50..... i hope to use this to make it work,,,, has anyone made this code work...>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>> For those looking for GM Radio Theftlock Bypass instructions, here you go...
1. Press and hold presets 2 & 3 for about 10 seconds until the first 3 digits of the display code are displayed. 2. Write the numbers down. 3. Press the AM/FM button, write down the next 3 numbers. 4. Call 1-800-537-5140, when asked, enter 202107, press the # button and enter the 6 digit code from the radio, you will get an unlock code, write it down. 5. Go back to the car, press the HR button and set the first 2 numbers, then press minute button and set the next two last numbers, press AM FM button, SEC should be displayed, turn on radio.
To remove customers code, repeat step 5. you should see --- on radio face, the code is now out of the radio.

Good to know that I won't be out of luck with my radio when I have to disconnect the battery.

I'm didn't think that Theftlock was *always* activated as soon as power is shut off... but I really have no evidence to back that up. Back when I was shopping for a used Bonneville CD player, very few of them advertised had Theftlock activated... cross your fingers, and maybe you won't have to worry about it!

I've removed my factory cd player for a week or so and then reinstalled it, and it still worked, i didn't even know what theftlock did, i guess i got lucky

Theftlock only activates if the previous owner entered a code (which very few do.) Does anyone here have their theftlock code set?

And it might stop the radio from being useful after it was ripped out of the car - but it would still be ripped out of the car !

Hehe, I certainly don't have mine set. I can't imagine that a lot of people have their factory stereos stolen... usually it's all the aftermarket stuff they put in. Somehow I don't think there's a huge black market for stock Oldsmobile head units.

I agree factory head units are WAY overpriced... but I'd like to see the source that says they are stolen more often than aftermarket. Most car burglars don't break into cars and steal stuff to use themselves... they pawn it for cash to feed an addiction (drugs, alcohol, sex, etc), and factory equipment has little value at pawn shops. (Sad but true.)
