what other audio systems are available for the 95 aurora? have any of you upgraded yours? i am tired of the stock sound, its just not cuttin it anymore. i want a lot more bass and a lot better speakers. i am willing to spend a grand for everything. can you just hook up any audio systems or only certain ones? cause i heard the audio system ties in with the DIC.
thanks

If you are spending $1000, you should not have a problem equipping your Aurora with a nice upgraded system. Start by upgrading the stock speakers, and you might be happy. Many people have been satisfied with mid-level brands like Kenwood and Pioneer, and others want more quality with Alpine and JBL. More expensive 3-way 6x9's (the rear deck speakers) will give you better bass response, and might help you avoid spending $$$ on a sub/box/amp setup... are you just wanting more bass IN the car, or do you want to annoy everyone within 6 blocks of where you're driving (hopefully not : ? Also, are you determined to replace the head unit? That will suck the most out of your budget from the get-go.

actually, i wanted to do the speakers and head-unit. but maybe i dont need the head unit?
i want some pretty decent speakers, and YES, my main reason is bass, which is weak as hell in the stock non-bose. you can tell the owner before me blasted them because when you turn it up real loud, it gets static.
No i dont necessarily want to be heard from 6 blocks away but i want some pretty bad ass sounding speakers. I could spend maybe 500 at the most for front + rear deck together without the head unit. I could have spent more if i didnt get that $200 speeding ticket over the weekend, however.
