Anyone know how you can make the sunroof work like the windows and just go all the way down with a touch of the button? Kind of like it does when you close the sunroof.

It seems doubtful there would be any way to do that with the factory switch... you'd need somethig with a relay that closes the switch when it detects the glass has slid all the way open. I'm sure a custom stereo/electronics joint could set you up with something like that, but the cost might be a little scary!

It does open like that. Just push the button a second detent. It will open by itself. It doesn't close by itself, though, you have to hold the button.

Sorry you're right, mine opens all the way on the first touch but I wish it closed that way too.

they have it setup that way because you're less likely to try and get your hand stuck in their if you have to have your hand on the buttont he whole time. It can also be a liability thing on GM's part. if you pressed the button and the sunroof was closing and a little kid stuck their arm out while ti was closing and got it caught in there someone could sue GM for that. If you have to hold the button down to close it, that eliminates that liability.

That's also why the windows don't go up automatically.. sigh, lawyers But I think I'd prefer it for my own safety - in my father's '03 530i, they go up and down automatically in the front and back. I once put a light stick in the path of the window going up, and they bent the stick (cracked but not broken) before it sensed it and went back down... a little scary so I decided not to hurt my finger in them.

Also the windows in the rear for the Classic Aurora onl go down half way, child safety thing. It would be nice to have them drop down all the way though.

It would be nice to have them drop down all the way though. actually it's because of the shape of the door. There isn't room for the glass to go down all the way. On cars where the rears go all the way down, the glass usually isn't full-width, rather there is a second 1/4 window that doesn't move. I think those look a lot less attractive than full-size glass.

When you turn the key to the off position the sunroof closes - by itself. Nice classy feature.

Oh man I would hate that sooooo much! I've been driving around a Volvo with a sunroof lately (car's in the shop for a week) - and I use the sunroof all the time - even when the car's off - I'd hate to have it shut when I turn off the car - dangerous!!!
Why do you want to lower the car in the back more than the front?
