I am thinking about putting this Bluetooth kit into my 2001. Has anybody here heard anything about it, good or bad? _______________ GM!!! BRING BACK OLDS!!!

Yikes, $150 for that! Nobody I associate with has got that kind of dough to spend on a cell phone accessory.

If it were for other things (my laptop supports bluetooth but my phone doesn't... yet , then I'd love to do it, like controlling temp and whatnot from the laptop. But that's impossible I'm sure, and especially for $150

What exactly does it let you do? Can you use the speakers and mic in the car with your cellphone a-la OnStar?

What that Motorola kit will do is this: After I pair the Bluetooth cell phone with the car kit after it has been installed, to make a call, all I will have to do is to press one button on the system control panel, say the keyword for the # (the phone has to be programmed for this) and the kit will have the phone dial the #. To answer, I would press another button to answer the call, and the kit will have the phone answer the call. The phone could be in my pocket, or somewhere else in the car. There is a separate speaker for the system, as well as a mic & control unit. There are 3 wires to attach to the electrical system: one to a constant source of power, one to a circuit turned on & off by the ignition, and a ground. __________________ GM!!! BRING BACK OLDS!!!

I just use a good old $15 hands-free thing. I can't justify spending 10x more for the same thing (only wireless...)
