About the Retained Accessory Power system on the 2nd gen......is there any change that can be made to that so power goes off at the power outlets as soon as the key is taken out of the ignition switch?

no, not as far as I know. I think that the cigarette lighters are controlled by a different module than the retained acessory power module. the windows, sunroof, etc are kept on by data signals telling the integration modules in each of the doors that the windows can operate. The accessory power stays active via data signals, not electrical current so there really isn't a way that a cigarette lighter could be operated in the same manner as the radio, doors, etc. Why do you want to make it this way? Is it for an accessory? You could rewire the positive on the cig lighters to the ACC wire on the ignition switch itself.. I would recommend the use of a relay though.

I was wondering if there was a way to shut off the retained accessory power when the ignition was shut off.

I think there is a fuse for the R.A.P. module. If you could locate it in the fuse panel you could probably disable it.

I'll try to find the fuse.

Just out of curiousity Marc? Why do you want to disable this great feature?

If I want to install some kind of accessory that has to be attached to the ignition, I'd just plug it into the power outlet on the right side of the console rather than look around for a circuit that's turned on & off by the ignition switch. I'd want the current at the outlet to go off immediately rather than stay on for 10 minutes.

There definitely is a way to specify which of the cig lighters is on at ignition power off - its all in hte way you out in the fuses. The 2 fuses (1 for each port) are on the motor side of the fuse box along the edge - you will see 3 contacts. Placing the fuse in one way gives you power all the time and the other only when ignition is on. You can specify each plug separately. Instructions are...in...the owners manual
