every once in a while when i go to adjust my outside mirrors neither of the mirrors want to move with the switch. however, after pressing the memory seat button they free up and i can once again adjust the mirrors. then a second problem is the memory seat button does not adjust the back angle of the seat. it will only move the seat front/back, up/down. any ideas or suggestions would be great.

You probably want to include the information about what car you drive. It might not matter, but it's good to know, nonetheless. You probably need a new memory module (I believe member Aurora40 has some experience with this problem). I know on our 2001 4.0, the mirrors never set themselves correctly with either keyfob the first time you unlock the car, but if you lock it back and then re-unlock it, they work everytime. This has just happened in the past 10,000 miles, and is the only problem (it's a small one) on the car. I've also heard of this on A33 (2002-2003) and A34 (2004+) Nissan Maximas with memory seat/mirror position features. A new memory module is the recommended fix for their problem. Hope this helps!

Sounds like it gets stuck in a feedback loop.

my car is a 97 if that helps at all. the problem is intermittent and the mirrors and seat will work fine for a while then every once in a while i'll notice that when i back up the passenger side mirror doesnt go down. thats how i know the when it is messed up. also once i hit the memory seat button after a freeze up the memory positions are lost.

thats weird. hows your car battery? not sure what effect that will have but i know sometimes a weak car battery will not hold the time on a lot of car radios. not sure if thats a factor with an Aurora. so take that with a grain of salt.

Two things: The drivers seat has 2 position sensors that aid in positioning the seat with the memory. And, the controlling mechanism for the memory is locate also under the drivers seat. You really need to get the shop manual and go through the trouble tree to find the problem.
