The up/down (memory or manual) on my passenger mirror has been out for a while now. I have checked the mirror motors and the switch with both checking out fine. The memory/manual for in and out works fine just no up/down.
Is there a module or control relay where the switch wires and the motors wires converge? I would like to check the wiring for continuity.
A wiring schematic would be outstanding.
Thanx in advance.

before i scan the manual for you, it only works when the switch is in a certain position... no offense intended but were you aware of that?

Thanks -- scan away - the up/down does not work with the switch in ANY position.

Sounds like its time for another mirror.

Sounds like its time for another mirror. nope - mirror's fine. I pulled the mirror off and jumped the motor. It worked fine. So the issue would be in the wiring/module/relay or whatever the thing uses.

All three manuals are here for the 1998 model, which, I believe should be similar, should you need any info.

Great - if you can find it - im looking for the junction of the passenger mirror wires and the switch wires - must be like a module or something but i dont know where it is. my next step is to check the wires for continuity but i need to know where they go.

i don't know if this will help you out but... www.rserve.biz/carspages 147-0 and 147-1 in the 98 shop manuals are the electric diagrams for the aurora. notice that there's a special switch that checks the transmision position? if it's anything it's probably that. how do you, if possible, post attachments here? i added another scan, it's the only thing that sounded relevent.

Roop:
I can't thank you enough...
That info is AWSOME and i think it has helped me isolate the problem to the Mirror/Seat Memory Module or associated wiring.
147-18 troubleshooting chart talks about a "Memory Mirror System Check". That information would be great if possible.
Now - does anyone know where the memory seat/mirror module is located?

"147-18 troubleshooting chart talks about a "Memory Mirror System Check". That information would be great if possible."
it's a big section which is why i didn't scan it and mostly irrelevant. it is a testing procedure where you test all of the mirror control functions. it tells you what to do, what should happen and what shouldn't happen. the last section in it says the following:
"set the igintion to run. change the shift selector to reverse. Normal operation: mirrors move down. Abonorma operation: mirrors do not move".
it appears to be a testing phase to find out what the problem is. since you already know what the problem is, it won't help you. the throbleshooting steps for when "Abonorma operation: mirrors do not move" is what i scanned for you.

Here it is: "LOCATION: Left hand front of the passenger compartment, under the left hand front seat"
Interpretation: The Memory Seat/Mirror module is under the drivers seat in the middle towards the drivers door.

Many thanks to all!
I guess I know what I will be doing this weekend...
BTW - I think it may be time to move this thread to "Audio and Electric".

OK - followed the schematics (thanks Roop) and checked all wiring at the door jamb and behind panel. All checked out good. Looks like the Memory Seat/Mirror Module needs to be replaced (thanks for the location oldsauroraman, 'never would have found that) .
Has anyone else replaced this module? It looks to me like the easiest way might be to remove the driver's seat to get to all the connectors.

Thats right. There should be 4 of them, one at each corner of the seat mounts.

Thanks for relocating this thread Scotty. Initially, I had hoped this would have been a mechanical issue; you know, like a broken wire in the door jamb or the like.
Does anyone know the cost of that module?
