I used to deal with those people. It's a company called Falcon Electronics. They buy car audio in bulk and sell it cheap. Don't care for the people myself, but if it works then it's a good thing!

Well are they scam artists? They have 10k feedback and 99.8% satisfaction. I better be satisfied.
The kappas are wonderful speakers though as Dan was telling me. I might get an amp too.
Reason i got these cause i blew the stock rear deck. Had the receiver cranked on 1 of my fav songs and its all static in the back. Cant have that, hehe.

i already have polk audio 6 3/4" components for the fronts. I am definately getting an amp. Just have to make a good choice on one. DAMNIT...i should have looked, could have gotten Rockford Fosgate 6x9 Component Package for the rear deck for the same price. Argh!!! I hope the Kappas sound just as good, but they dont have tweeters

That's mighty good feedback. But its a shame if they are short on their people skills.

I hope the Kappas sound just as good, but they dont have tweeters The Infinities have a tweeter. Otherwise there wouldn't be any high frequencies. The difference between a Coaxial and a component speaker is the coaxials are permanently attached and the components have a detached tweeter with a crossover. When you are looking for an amp, make sure its 2 ohm stable as your new Infinities are 2 ohms. This might present a problem trying to match your Infinities 110 watts RMS at 2 ohms while matching your Polks' 60 watts RMS at 4 ohms. You might have to either do 2 amps (which would create a horrible sound-stage), or only run the Infinities at half power, which might cause the amp to send clipped signals to the Inifinties overheating them.

Crap. I may just forget the amp altogether. Shouldnt even be spending all the money on the car that I am anyway.

What model is your head unit?
Most head units are not 2 ohm compatible as well. So going with an amp may be your only choice.

It will work, but the Infinities being 2 ohms might draw to much from the HU and damage it.
Right now, (I have Bose, so I don't have 6x9s) I have JL Audio TR650CXis for the front and JL Audio TR400CXsi for the rears (in the Bose, they're in the doors), running off the stock Bose HU/amp I had the guys at carstereohelp.com rebuild. +My subs (2 Kicker CompVR 15"/sub amp (Kicker KX1200.1)
Shortly, I will have an Alpine 9855 HU, Kicker KX850.4 amp, Kappa Perfects 6.1s for front, Image Dymanics CX54s for rear fill, and Kicker R19 tweeters for front "soft" tweeter fill as the Perfect's tweeters are alum. they are a bit sharp.

what does the stock 6x9s draw? i would hope the HU would have some protective circuitry or something and just shut off to prevent damage.

the Infinities are not 2 ohm. They're 4 ohm. I have the same speakers. My stock 6x9's were either 8 or 10 ohm I believe.

ahh. Didn't think they'd change something like that.. That's crazy, but, atleast 2 ohm is better if you're using an external amplifier.. that's probably why they did it.

Yea, except for a lot of cheaper multi-channel amps (Class A/B) aren't 2 ohm stable as well, which the 693.7I are slightly geared toward. Most people would spend the dough for "name brand" speakers but skimp on a cheap amp which some imaginary peak figure. I doubt Steven will do this though. but it would have been easier if someone asks first before he goes out and does something crazy, gosh

By stock HU, I assume you mean the Panasonic? You can use the HU with the speakers, but you'd have to be careful with the volume knob, dunno how good you are with that. I would recommend going with an amp. Personally, I would consider the Kicker KX350.4. Meets your needs almost perfect. 60 watts rms @ 4 ohms for your polks and 90 watts rms @ 2 ohms for your infinities. Best part is they're only about $100 bux on ebay too.

thanks, it doesnt come with wires though....can i just get any kind? the place im getting instaleld at prolly will charge high dollar, gonna have to call em tomorrow and see.
$100 aint too bad at all, especially when the amp is $300 new. I shouldve went ebay route originally too, i couldve gotten my polk speakers for only $119. $100 cheaper. *******.

The shop will install it with your wire? They usually use their own. Just type in "amp wiring kit" on ebay. I got a Voodoo kit for mine. Everything I needed for 60 bux for a 0 gauge kit.
No amp comes with wires. You'll need the following wires: Power wire for amp, ground wire for amp,(i'd say 4ga for both), a remote turn-on lead for amp, 2 RCA's to run from the HU to the amp, and speaker wire. You can cheap on the wires except for the RCAs. Buy quality ones.

Well it sounds like Shrooms knows what hes talking about. I was tlakin to the guy at my audio place...and he knows how i am (knew my dad for 10+ yrs and when he had auroras). I like to CRANK my stereo. I have it to the max a lot. I know it sounds crazy, but I do lol. I just put the windows + roof down, arm out the window and turn er up.
He said it wont be an immediate problem if i keep it low but I cant do that. So I got the amp. Kinda pricey for the installation though, it will be around $150 just for that.

oh damn it. i was just gonna ask you if you want mine. i got the kicker 350.4 two weeks ago. i put it in to power my front and rear infinities. at that time i thought they were 2 Ohms. When I was amp shopping I was too lazy to look up the exact speaker model I had. I only looked at infinity web for that info. Well, it turned out that even though I bought the speakers 4 months ago, only the very new line is 2 Ohm. That sucks beacuse I thought I was feeding them 90rms each, but at 4 Ohm it's only 60RMS. They still sound great, but I believe it could be better if powered sufficiently. Anyway, anybody out there who would want the Kicker? It's brand new and I got ext. warranty on it. Will give you a good deal. Please help.

Glad I could help. You'll definitely enjoy the new setup. Just be sure the read the instructions and don't set the gain control too high. Set it to about a 1/4 and turn up the HU and then slowly raise the gain till your happy. Don't set it full. I also would give everything some break-in time. At least 4 hours at lower volume levels.
