Since I got the car, the sunroof hasn't worked. So just trying to see what all the possibilities are for repair and if it's a DIY'er.
one thing, i know looking at the fuse portion on the panel that the sunroof shares a breaker with the power windows so if they power windows work then the fuse or breaker is fine, right?
i see a sunroof motor for sale on eBay and might pick that up but could that usually be what the problem might be? any suggestions?

I got mine fixed under my GM Warranty, back when I still owned my Aurora.

I picked up a module for mine at a bone yard for $8 but still had the same prob. I think mine is the "rack", if you will, that the motor drives because you can hear it jumping the gears.

I don't remember what was replaced, but I know they replaced the whole thing, rails, sunroof glass and other internal parts. I was like getting a new sunroof and all.
It all started when the black paint, started coming off from the outside of the sunroof, it just started to peel off and the sunroof would not close all the way.
So they replaced the whole thing, covered under my GM Warranty then.

no one has a repair manual? i looked everywhere and i guess Haynes and Chilton dont make a manual for the Aurora. No they don't. Those manuals are way too simplistic and general for the classic Aurora models. Repair information is only available from the GM repair manuals for Aurora/Riviera models... a 3-volume set will cost you $90 or so from eBay. where can i find one or anyone have a copy? The "Search" function is your friend... aurorah.proboards47.com/index.cgi?board=Audio&action=display&thread=1099150253FWIW, I still haven't had mine fixed. It has power, but doesn't stop automatically where it's supposed to.
