My hood emblem is gold, but pretty faded, and was falling off, so I just pulled it off.
GM sells it for $33 which is ridiculous, what do you guys feel would be a fair price for that item.
Do any of you think it looks better w/out the emblem?
In any case I wouldnt mind having the 32V Northstar emblem from the Caddy to put on the fenders behind the wheel, in front of the doors

You'll get different opinions on "debadging", I like the gold logo and the gold name on the back. Many people would disbelieve the caddy 32V symbol on any car but a caddy. I don't think it would look good, but all this is strictly personal opinion - so whatever turns you on. (Is that expression still in vogue? I just don't know any more. )

Howard, what do you feel is a reasonable price for the hood emblem, and for the emblem in the rear (individualy).
And why do you think ppl would be in disbelief about the 32V Northstar emblem?, I thought it would look nice, but come to think of it that emblem the letters are raised on a black rectangular plastic, which yes would not look good, but if was just the letters, like the Aurora in the rear, then it would give the car a sporty look, just depends on where you place it too.

I've seen it..there is a kid around here with a black Aurora with extra badges ALL over it...looks terrible. the STS 32V badge is a different font face and looks...ricey.
Just my opinion

To each is own - Im not too crazy about gold lettering. You could further enchance the Aurora "sleeper" image by debadging completly, not to mention save some $.

Well, I wouldnt go crazy putting badges all over either. font face, well they would be on the sides so it wouldnt matter.
What do you all feel would be reasonable price to pay for the hood emblem, rear emblem (individualy)

i don't think that 33 dollars is horrible, i'd just get it and replace it. I'm thinkin' about gettin' some new floor matts for my car, i was surprised to hear they were only around 50 dollars!, so i'm waitin' til after winter.

I think $33 for just the hood emblem is crazy.
I might remove the one on the back tho, just to give that are a clean look, but the hood doesnt in my opinion look too good with out it, maybe im just not use to seeing the hood without it.

$33 IS VERY REASONABLE FOR A HOOD EMBLEM, IF ITS THE ORIGINAL GM PART....I HAVE SEEN EMBLEMS FOR EVEN OLDER CLASSIC CARS GO FOR ALOT MORE.....WHY NOT DEBADGE THE CAR.....APPARENTLY OLDS DIDNT WANT TOO MUCH IDENTIFICATION ON IT TO BEGIN WITH, WHICH ADDED TO THE AURORA'S "MYSTIQUE"....PERSONALLY, I WOULDNT DE BADGE, BUT TO EACH HIS OWN

$33 for the emblem is pretty normal. Hardly a rip-off. And $33 to make your car look nicer, sounds worth it to me. It's not a bargain, but like Rocket said, there are cars where they cost a heck of a lot more.

Jaguar and oldsmobile dont quite compare.
Im thinking I might just debadge, I already got use to seeing the hood now w/out it, and the rear, that may come off too.
But im still going to consider the fender vents, possibly the Park Ave port holes.
