Good morning, Well now that I have found this site, you can probably figure out that I was having an issue and doing the old faithfull internet search.
I have owned my 95 Aurora for 3 years now. great story your gonna love this!!! so I test drive this killer lookin ride, and was so pumped about the power and the comfort of the car. Love those leather seats.
OK, Jumpin ahead....... I put my name on the dotted line, and buy her! Dealer says he's gonna have it cleaned up for me, and will be ready when i get outta work! SO I get off of work early head on over to pick up my new to me car! Getting so geeked about my first road trip and where Im gonna go for the weekend, cruising around in my killer ride! So as I'm driving off the lot, she overheats.... and I get a service engine soon light! DANGIT!!!!!!!!!!
BAD SIGN YA THINK? OH IF ONLY I WOULD HAVE JUST SAID NO................
talkin to the dealer im told, that it would be taken care of. 2 weeks later pick the car up.... it seems to be running hot well to me, the guage just kept creepin up while I sat at a red lite and the service engine soon light comes on again. after arguing with service technician so and so.... I'm PISSED! and
Decide to go to another dealer! come to find out the codes have to do with the Torque converter sensor malfunctioning, Ended up being covered under warranty. (THANK THE LORD) $$$$$$ 4432.00
Come to find out, my water pump belt was slipping! Had that replaced , not covered under warranty.
Anyway so 6 months of wonderful cruising rides around savvanah georgia. The steering wheel feels strange while driving, and its just not responsive like it was..... I find out that My rack and pin is damaged, replaced with a used one for oh 1800 bucks.............
Then the ECM went to hell, (replaced it 2x's now) love the 12 month or 12k mile warranty o that little bugger.
AC compressor next that was about 1100 bucks
then what happens next I get broadsided by an uninsured dum ass, driving a geo.... this ones the best yet.... body shop calls tells me she's ready! im told that who ever did my alignment forgot to put the bolts back in. So I drive away and can automatically tell that she isnt driving quite right. bring her to my mechanic and he tells me that the bolts for my rack have been sheered off. and that I need a new rack. Which you already know from reading above, had been replaced already come to find out, the warranty work that was done with the transmission, the are mounts for the training, that should have been replaced but weren't. and with the impact from the accident caused the training to push forward which caused the sheered action on the rack.... insurance adjuster from USAA came out and inspected the vehicle with my mechanic, GUESS WHAT HE SAYS! I must have hit something else with the car , cause the body shop didnt note anything with BOLTS MISSING, but they did how ever let me know.. just didn't document it.. so more money outta my pocket! after that I had ball joint issue.. then a cv joint axle whatever you wanna call it!
I love the car and realize they all need service sometime, but man o man... this ones taken me to the cleaners.
Oh yeah , one thing can be said about uncertified mechanics, while having my car in for the serpentine belt to be replaced, the dum ass doing the work, decided to use a jack stand to manuever the motor so he could have slack in the belt , so he says... Cracked my oil pan........... UMM hello alluminum oil pan and the motor weight on a jack stand can we say dum ass....
Recently I had an oil pressure problem, brought the car in , and was quoted 600 bucks for an oil pump/pan gasket replacement. On my bill it says R&R pump and gasket, come to find out they didnt have to remove the pan to get to the pump, so they didnt replace the oil pan gasket which is now leaking. It was leaking when i brought it in, so no fault of theres, but they said they were going to replace it and did not. after complaining to the owner, my only actions are to take them to court.
On to the good stuff, the reason I'm here After the replacement of the oil pump, and picking the car up, I smell burning oil. and smoke seems to be coming from the underside of the car. need to get it back into the shop, but haven't found a mechanic i trust, after all that has happened to me with having so called certifed mechanics work on my car. I just replaced the wires yet again, and put bosch 4+ in I was having hard starts and crappy gas milage, im talking 10 MPG sometimes, after replacing the plugs and wires im getting better gas mileage, and she seems to be running smoother. but something is still off... Oh yeah I forgot to mention I juist replaced the MC master Cylinder, and now my power assist is bad, any helpfull input on that would be greatly appreciated.... if youve changed one b4? new tis 317 bucks found one in a junk yard for 50.. been driving around for about a month now with manual brakes, yeah my legs getting a work out... Sorry if this seems all out of order. Im really glad Ive found a place for information about the beast! LOVE HER ALOT, but man she's gouging the pockets, and with the price of mechanics, being up there, and IM NEVER SATISFIED when someone else works on my car, something always seems to go wrong... Im doing it all myself.ANYWAY... Ive been having poor starts again, I know your not suppose to pump the peddle for FI fuel injection, but for some reason, after the 9th 10th or 11th try of pumping the gas she'll turn over... oh and something else I forgot,.... sometimes, I get a loud POP from under the hood, combustion BANG when Im trying to start her up. NO CLUE WHAT TO LOOK FOR on that one! sometimes it happens sometimes it dont! Anyway Ive been up all night reading almost on the posts on here.... getting kinda sleepy and ramblin like a mad man... thanks for getting this far.... loook forward to replies! HAVE A GREAT SUPER CHEESEY DAY!
