My 2001 Aurora is a Dark Metallic Blue color. Does anyone know what this color is called?? I went to an automotive store and looked for a touch-up kit, and bought what looked close. Not as close as I would have hoped??
How do I match the color correctly??
Thanks, Steve

62U Sapphire for 2001 blue. You can look in the trunk under the spare tire cover for the build sheet also.

I think this is one item that's probably best bought from a dealer. It may not have the same name on the paint, they change colour names more often than they change colours, but they can look up the exact code number based on the year and description of your car and you'll know that it will be the right one.

Go to your local bodyshop, they will mix you a couple of ounces of touchup for maybe five bucks. Don't waste your money on expensive touch up brushes - use a wooden toothpick. Also touch up in less visible areas first, this way you gain some experience and not mess up the more visible areas.

use paper match's , thats what we use , the part yor tear off is soft like a brush , so for 2 cents buy a book of match's
and try to get a single stage paint because base dosnt shine and if your have pearl in you paint , well lets just say good luck, your best bet is to get the touch up at the dealer that way if it dont match you can return it and oh and its a single stage paint !

Oh, Marc, I thought you meant to get dealer touch-up. If you mean to use the brush, I'd advise against that. They put a huge glob on the paint and are hard to control.
For chips, a toothpick or a matchstick as was said are great. Both will allow you to put small amounts of paint down in a more precise way.

Not that I know of. However, if you have the touch-up tube, you can just set the applicator (carefully) aside and stick a toothpick or match in it to get the paint out.
