1. I bought my Aurora used 2001-3.5. I think it may have had some front end work ( collision?) . When I turn the steering wheel any at all, whether moving or not I get a bump or bumps as the wheel turns. Is there a bearing that may need to be replaced in the steering column? 2. I replaced my Goodyear's with Pirelle's. They weren't cheap but they sure don't ride well. I took them right back to the dealer and told them to check why the car meandered all over. They said the tire pressure was too low. I checked after leaving and they had pumped them up to 38psi. They still ride crappy. I do my own mechanical. Nearly everything. Plugs, filters, fluids, brakes. I know when it's done it's right. I told a friend about the little loping I get at 20 or so. He said the little bead on the tire just outside of the rim is to center the tire on the rim. Sure enough the bead doesn't look the same distance from the rim. Does anyone else have more info? jpete

1. It's your intermediate steering shaft. the problem can be 'corrected' by giong to the dealer and having them lube it. This is only a temporary fix however, and the problem WILL come back. The only sure bet is to replace it with the updated part. This is around a $400 repair. 2. I have Pirelli's on my Aurora which replaced the [crappy] stock goodyear tires and I am very pleased with them. They're the P3000 sport tire. Which Pirelli's did you go with? a bad ride will be caused by too much air pressure, not too little. The wandering shouldn't be caused by the tires either. Pirelli's are a good tire. What do you mean exactly by a "crappy" ride? Too stiff? too soft?

Regarding the tires: Unfortunately, some tires just ride poorly and are susceptible to grooves or uneven roads. What model of Pirellis did you get? Have you checked out the user reviews at TireRack.com?
