To anyone that can help:
I have been recently having trouble with my traction control, primarily when I start the engine. Once I turn it over, the traction control immediately engages itself (i.e. the noise and dash light sound off.) This will go on as long as I am in park and have not stepped on the brake. Now, If I immediatly step on the brake, the traction control turns off and the abs kicks in.
So, I can easily turn this off as I drive a few seconds by hitting the button near the shifter, turning off the traction control. Or, I can let it make that wrestched noise for an extra block and it will turn itself off.
What the heck is up?

Get the car scanned. It could be a malfunctioning sensor or a bad TC unit. Hopefully it's a cheap fix.

Same thing happened to me. Needed a new ETCBM (Electronic Traction Control and Brake Module), its the silver box that is located on the driver side strut tower. Should be the same location for the 2nd gen. Or, it could be bad input read of the WSS. Yep..happened to me as well. Needed a new driver side hub assembly for the WSS sensor ring had separated from the hub assembly itself. The sensor would read loss of traction due to this separtion. See the diff? Good luck either way
