Hi---just in the last few days I noticed a loud knock/pop sound when I hit uneven ground on the front drivers side. After going underneath the car I noticed a space between the plastic shim that is about 2 1/2 inches long that attaches what looks like the front stabilizer arm (part number 25640437) I attempted to tighten the bolt head and the threads on the other side did not move. It has a flat (looks like a shim) nut on the top and after pushing up on it ---it looks like I have a sheared bolt. Does anyone have the maintenance manual on this repair? Do I have to jack up the car to remove this bolt to relieve tension. Any help would greatly be appreciated as I want to do this repair this weekend and potentially just get the part of a car at the junk yard. I drive a 2001 3.5--thanks

sOLVED....Hey fellow 2nd gen owners. I went ahead and attempted this repair without any input and it was a breeze to replace. The bolt had rusted through and sheared. Bought the kit from a GM dealer for 17.00 jacked up the car to relieve pressure and installed the new kit. Easy fix and I can see this being a widespread issue. I suggest taking a look at this attachment point coming off the stabilizer arm.
