Hey guys, I am approaching 100,000 miles on my 2001 and want to keep my kitten purring. I was thinking about plugs and fuel filter=---has anyone changed their fuel filter and if so can you post the MM if you have it. It looks like it needs a special tool--does it? How about trans fluid and coolant? -Anyone else approaching the 100,000 milestone?

Just changed my fuel filter (79k), I went to the dealership and it required this special tool about a few inches wide, I think it's called a credit card... nice and easy!

Think about the 02 sensors as well. Definitely a tranny service as well to keep it going strong. Coolant doesn't need to be done yet so hold off.

Regarding the tranny service--are you a fan of the complete powerflush or dropping the pan and replacing the filter method and why? How many O2 sensors and where are they located?

Dropping the pan is better than those "power purge" traetments. those can actualy kill a trans, it breaks up some of the cluch dust and that can clog up the Valve body. so a good old pan service will do

Thanks--I think I will go the route of dropping the pan and changing the filter--it is alot like an oil change you just wouldn't do one without changing the filter....How about spark plugs on the 2nd gen---go with OEM or are there better options out there?
