Sometimes I just like to give the Aurora some gas...Im 20 what can I say and like father like son I follow my dad and open it up sometimes ...But has anybody else had a sort of whistling sound when the tach gets up around 4 grand? I feel it might be the fuel injection system but I have no idea. Nothing seems to be wrong but is the sound normal?

Power steering pump maybe?

Could it really be the pump though? There is absolutely no sound until the revs get that high? I have dealt with a steering pump before in my previous chrysler and that sound seemed to just be all the time but less at higher rpms.

yes. Before modifying my car, it made that same intake whislte you mention. It won't do it at WOT though. The whistle is caused from a combination of the airbox itself, and the intake tubing leading from the airbox, to the throttle body. After gutting the insides of the airbox, and replacing the intake tubing from the airbox to the throttle body, along with the MAF sensor, the intake whistle is now 100% gone. I think it's caused by restrictions in the stock setup, and turbulence by uneeded bends. Check out this thread: aurorah.proboards47.com/index.cgi?action=display&board=Zoom&thread=1151943109&page=1And the video below is what my car sounded like BEFORE the intake on it.. Notice how loud the whistle is outside the car!! Click here to watch lthe intake whistle videoAnd here are two videos of what it sounds like now, from inside, also at WOT. You can see all my mods below in my signature. Video one. media.putfile.com/DSCN0518-66and Video Two: media.putfile.com/DSCN0519

you don't necessarily have to get rid of the stock MAF sensor. You could just run new tubing from the MAF to the throttle body and get away with that. Gutting the airbox also seemed to get rid of the noise as well. You don't have to go all out and buy a new MAF too.

Alright that sounds a lot better...Now when you say gutting the box do you mean cutting out that seperater between the two chambers? What about the computer unit in there?

After the monstrous tornado/thunder/hail storm we just had...I just took it out for a drive to clear out the water and there is absolutely no whistle at all.

I punched mine for the 1st time today and it whistles. I never punch it though. If anyone asks what the noise is I'll tell them "I can't say. It's not street legal".
