Sorry to start another thread on this topic but I feel that you guys may hold the answers to my questions. Has anyone had this problem with their car under warranty? If so how did you get them to fix it? The dealer that i bought my Aurora from was a Gm dealer but has never heard of and or will not fix my issue. He says that it could be to many things to just fix it and "guess". I have no amunition other than this site. Why wasn't a recall put out for this issue. Basically he thinks that i am crazy because he cannot re-create the problem. It will cost over 400 dollars to fix out of posket and my warranty deductable is 100 bucks. Please advise. Thanks.

He says that it could be to many things to just fix it and "guess" Hasn't that dealer ever heard of the Tech 2 scan tool? That'll find out what the problem is very fast. Your best bet is to go to a Cadillac dealer. I did that when the crankshaft sensors on my 2001 failed. The Cadillac dealer did the job very rapidly & satisfactorily.

does it ever get worse. It is so sparatic that I can never tell when it is going to stall. Right now it is about once a month and then it happens all the time and then goes fine for another month. I am going to call the Caddy dealer and set up an appointment. You have to take in to consideration where I live this is the hick capital of the world here in Springfield, Missouri.

I suspect it will get worse. And like Marc mentioned, there is a testing procedure for the crank sensors, but it requires a Tech 2.
If they don't want to guess, what are they doing to narrow it down? If your car stalls while driving, that's a pretty decent concern.
I don't understand why so many car dealers care so little about their customers...

...I don't understand why so many car dealers care so little about their customers... That's why I try to do everything myself! Dealers are always out to screw people I think. When I went to tech school, they taught us how to upsell if we worked at a dealership! haha

Oh Man I love the caddy dealer. They replaced the sensors today upper and lower and did it in less than 4 hours. I got it fixed under warranty and now I am going to get to keep her. So now that she is fixed I need some exhuast and intake.

Had the same problem with my 01 4.0 in 10/2006! Check engine light came on, then I had the unpredictable stalling. I had the Olds dealership in Gardner, MA change the crank-pos- ition sensors(that's what they said was wrong) vehicle was fine after that. Now, just today, I had the vehicle start idling rough like as if it was going to stall again. (DO I HAVE THE SAME PROBLEM WITH CRANK POSITION SENSORS AGAIN). bobk 9501olds

Have it scanned for codes. It could be something other than the crankshaft position sensors, and the only sure way of finding out is to get a scan tool on it.
