I have an 03' 4.0L and everytime I get off the highway and come to a stop light, the low pressure shows up on the trip computer. I know I have oil, since I check it weekly and I use the proper oil recommended. I was told that it could be a low idle, but the idle is normal. I was also thinking it could be a low pressure sensor but I am not sure. Anyone have this problem? any suggestions would be great.
thanks,

Does the oil pressure warning light in the bottom of the speedometer light up?

It has 105,000 KM (about 65,000 miles) and there is no light that shows up. It just comes up on my trip computer above the radio. The moment I start driving again, the warning goes away. It only starts blinking and beeping when I come to a stop. If anyone has experienced this, let me know what you did to resolve it.
Thanks,

Do you have enough oil in the crankcase?? Check your engine oil and make sure you have enough.

My 01 did the same thing, I had to get the sensor changed on it I think or the oil pump, I can't remember which. I'd have to look at the paperwork. It wasn't a big deal though and they were able to change it the same day.

This might be a long shot but, what type of oil filter are you using? I had that problem using one of those instant oil change places. I determined it was either the cheap filter or penzoil oil. I was told penzoil was a paraffin based product and it breaks down fast. Try using an AC oil filter and Valvoline 5w-30 oil.

Thanks for the info guys. I am using an OEM filter from GM and the proper oil. I was told by a mechanic that it could be the oil pressure sensor. So I am going to change it next week. I hope this fixes the problem...
Thanks again guys for all of your input.
Cheers.
