I know I've brought this up before, but this time I *really* am going to replace my front rotors and pads in a couple weeks, and I want to make sure I don't dummy it up too bad. Any tips from those experienced in this? And from another thread... Did you season the rotors correctly? How is this done? And what kind of "cleaning" is recommended during a DIY brake job?

Scotty, The brakes are a DIY job. While I have not changed the Aurora's yet, I have changed the pads on my other cars and on my friend's Integra. Because you are chaging the rotors too, make cretain that you get the part of the hub the rotors sit on absolutely clean or else you will get noise. As far as "seasoning" the brakes goes, all that means is a series of stopping and starting which gradually builds up heat and brings the brakes to operating temperature. Here is more info about the seasoning procedure. All in all, just go slow and do ONE wheel at a time and you will be fine. Best of luck to you. As far as cleaning goes. When cleaning between the rotor and hub a wire bush or steel wool should be fine (in my experience). Be sure to follow any cleaning procedure with a nice thorough application of Brake Cleaning Spray (found in all autoparts stores).
