Hi all!! Let me start by saying thank you for this forum/messageboard. I have learned alot and found tons of useful info already. My name is Bryan. I live in a small town in Southern Illinois, near Waterloo. I just recently acquired a '97 White Diamond (Pearl White) Aurora. I found it in Texas on autotrader.com. I fired up the grand prix and the wife and I were on our way. Somewhere in Oklahoma I found myself questioning my decision to drive 650 mi each way for a $3500 car. Upon arriving and seeing the car, I was glad we made the trip. The car was a beauty! We took it down the road for a test drive. About 400 yards down the road, I nailed the accelerator to the floor. My poor wife, who was sitting cock-eyed in her seat checking things out, suddenly found herself firmly planted sideways to the back of her seat. I may be from Illinois, but I promise you, I had a big ole Texas grin from that point on. Hell, I still got that grin going on. Anyhoo, we made our way back to the place and I couldn't get the cash out of my pocket fast enough. I mean, this thing is loaded up with options, chrome wheels, sunroof, heated seats, Bose and in fantastic shape. It has 112,000 mi on it now, but looks and runs like a new one. It made the trip back to IL flawlessly. I averaged over 25 mpg on the interstate. I have nothing negative to say about the car. It's a sweet ride plain and simple. I just wanted to introduce myself and tell my story about how I acquired my Aurora. Again, thank you for this forum.

Welcome to the forum. It seems that a lot of the new members lately have the diamond white paint. Must have been really popular. That's quite a distance to go to get the car - it must have been a hoot driving it all the way back home. I bet it feels like a big step up from the grand prix ;D ;D

Thank you dred98. Yes, it was a blast driving home. The Grand Prix is my wife's car. After driving the Aurora, now she wants either an Aurora or a 300M LOL. She deserves whatever she chooses tho. She is a good woman.
I have a question maybe someone could help me out with. How do I get the smilies and icons to show up on this forum? All I see are squares with a smaller white square inside it with a red X inside of that. It makes it hard to navigate on the site.

Welcome DaHamma! Remindes me of the Lyle Lovet song that goes, "That's right you're not from Texas, but Texas wants you anyway...". And yes, you've got "Auroraitis". That big grin whenever you get in or look at your car. I hope the site continues to be of use for you. Post early and often and best of luck with the "new" car.

The 300M is one of the cars we looked at when we were shopping (along with the LS and SSEi). The Aurora's a great choice. You might check your browser settings to make sure it allows the showing of images. Otherwise, maybe you've got some kind of connection problem or something?

There's a little white box at the bottom of the reply screen - make sure that the bottom one is unchecked.

Thank you all for the warm welcome. I look forward to interacting with you all on this forum.
dred98, I made sure that wasn't checked. I even d/l netscape and they won't show up with it either. When I right click on the icons and select "View Image", I get an error message that states "The connection was refused when attempting to contact 4d5.net". It's hard telling what the problem is, maybe I'll have better luck with the new site.
Thanks again guys.

Great story, that exactly how I felt when I got my 97, took it on the hwy to stretch some legs and that was it...sold...hehe, it wasnt a drive to Texas, but I sure would have!
Regarding your web problems, it could be Netscape, see if IE has better luck, or clear all of your cookies and cache memory.
Good luck with the car!

Thanks Jim. Man, you guys sure make a guy feel welcome!
I tried what you suggested Jim, no luck. Isnibs, I clicked on those links and IE says page can't be displayed and Netscape reports the same errors and I mentioned earlier. Thanks just the same tho guys. I appreciate your efforts.

Welcome, DaHamma!!!!!! how 'bout that....another diamond white 97!!!!! i know you'll enjoy the car!!!! you know, there's just something about that Diamond White paint that just screams "luxury" and "class"...all the Aurora colors are great, but of all, I think the Diamond White just gives it the most luxurious look...especially the way it shines at night when the moonlight hits it!!!!! (maybe i am just biased) hope my 97 will still be running like new at 112,000 miles as well......best of luck...welcome to the world of the Aurora Rocket

Thanks alot Rocket! I'm sure your Aurora will still be going strong at 112,000 mi. I've never driven a new Aurora, but I can't imagine it running any better than it does now. I agree that white is very classy. I've had the car for 5 days now, paid $3650 for it and yesterday I was offered $5000 for it from my mom! LOL When I finally stopped laughing, (Sorry Mom), I agreed to help her find an Aurora of her own, but she wants one exactly like mine. I thought I was done car shopping but nay nay....... so the hunt continues.

HI, and welcome too!!!!! Boy, those 'Diamond White's" must be something. I don't think I have seen one up here, at least that I am aware of it being the colour, but I am going to pay more attention to looking for one so I can admire it too!!! Must look awesome. Congratualtion and enjoy. (PS...if I were your wife, you would have a hard time getting your turn to drive it so you're lucky!) Anyway, both of you have a great time with it. You will only get to love it more and more, I assure you. Bye

DaHamma, Just to let you know in case I forget, I'm putting together a Custom Indiglo Gauges pre-order for the Classic Aurora. You can find more detailed information at the website below. www.speedhut.com/15orders_el_detail.asp?auto_number=75&bhcp=1No one else in the web or internet has them available, so we in the pre-order would be the very first people to own a set of these gauges. Thanks, Javi.

Hey there, welcome and sorry I'm late to respond... us Illinois folks are starting to take this place over! ;D I've got some family from Columbia, which I know is near Waterloo. Congrats on your two Diamond Whites, they sound as nice as we all know they are.
