Welcome Bobby!
Glad you finally decided to come join our little club from the land of OF. I have learned a lot from reading your posts and, believe it or not, still plan on doing the grounding cable that you helped Jim with.
Anyway, welcome to the club!

You don't have to own an Aurora to hang around here, you just have to like 'em. Welcome!

Thanks guys for the very warm welcome. Believe it or not, I almost bought a 97 Aurora. As I mentioned to JimW, the thought of running premium fuel gave me the "he bee g bees." lol. I do love the Aurora's though. ;D erw38.....I'd recommend you make your kit and make it soon. I'm sure you'll be happy with the results for what it takes. ;D It's nice to see all you guys from O.F. I feel more at home being surrounded by familiar people.

Welcome aboard. Premium fuel, yeah I knew that long before I got the car but I wanted it regardless. Sure beats the hell out of a nice little efficient Honda Civic econo-box.

Premium fuel to get the kind of compression the L47 gets...heh, well worth the trade off, it gets decent mpg so I dont worry to much.

Hi Isnibs. Scarborough Ontario Canada. Ummm........is that what you mean? Of course "Bring back Oldsmobile". I'm all for that. But GM is known for dropping things of their product line just when they get it right. To tell you the truth.......Civic's really aren't that economical to own. Carry 1 or more passengers and watch you fuel economy drop. Insurance rates is pretty expensive for an economy car. Then again,, I'm not a huge fan of any import cars.

I go against the tide around here, and rarely use premium fuel all the time.... usually I fill up with 90 octane, and have had no problems whatsoever. My owner's manual says even 87 octane is okay to use, as long as an audible knock or significant performance loss does not develop. I ran a test period a few months ago, and using 93 octane for 500-600 miles gave me no noticeable benefits in mileage or performance... it just made me poorer, so I bagged it. But that's just me.

Hi Javi. Thanks for the welcome. That was a sweet ride you had. How was the ride/perfromance after you put on 18"s? It too bad it got totalled. The important thing is you're not hurt. But look what you got as a replacement. ;D I'm sure you're much happier with your 99 Aurora. By the way, that looks sweet too. Just checked out your CarDomain site. Oh yeah scottydl.......I was feeding my car and I took a look over at the premium stuff. I still get chills. I'm sure if I did buy the 97 Aurora I won't be paying too much more for gas per year but still...........burrrrr. Did someone just turn down the heat here? ;D

Here's an official welcome aboard w3rk5, although we've already gone around on the maintainance pages. I started out to buy an Intrigue when the Aurora happened to me. My folks loved their Intrigue and so did I, but stuff happens. Intigue GLS wannabe replaced by Aurora Autobahn on the lot.
What I'd really like to know is how does the PCS work? I was going after that option specifically because of the higher gear ratio, which I felt might compensate for the loss of the 3.8's low end grunt. Is that the case and do you like the stability control?

Man, the ride an dperformance was 100% better than the stock 16's that's for sure, it had better handling, it just felt better, specially coming of a highway ramp, the tires had better gripping to the asphalt, plus I was running 245/40 tires, compared to the 225/60 stocks. Is that the case and do you like the stability control? Thanks Letitroll98. Off the top of my head PCS works by gathering data from a series of sensors, including those connected to the steering, anti-lock braking and traction control system. It then used these inputs to identify any cornering skid and takes corrective measures, modulation pressure to any one of 4 disc brakes to control oversteer or understeer. From a drivers point of view I like it. I actually copied that from the brochure. haha.
