Hey guys! Most of you already know me from else where. Just giving everyone an update. My 1995 Copper Mist autobahn is still kickin, as an importer slayer up at school in Orlando at UCF and a ferrari slayer here at home in Boca Raton (nothing beats the feeling of flying by a ferrari). Going to hit 114k when I drive back tomm, still showroom new (almost )

Welcome! You '95 owners are definitely increasing in numbers. 114k is not bad at all, for a car that's nearly 10 years old!

no, not yet *knock on wood*. but i hope i never do. i want to paint my whole car tri-coat bordeaux red so it will look brand new, and get my seals and weatherstripping fixed with all new ones. it is leaking and bending and it really looks bad.
also i want to get the performance chip so i can take out the MPH limiter and put V rated tires on so i can take it to 140, along with a host of other things the chip lets u do. hmm i am getting razzi in summer too, i think. thats when i will paint the car. depends if anything happens where i need to use a lot of money.

Steven, I really, really want to repaint mine. It has a large chunk of paint missing on the front passenger side door guard. You can see the white plastic from a distance and looks horrible. Also, I am kind of unsure they can reproduce my color exactly. In the mornings it looks purple-ish but in the gorgeous Florida sunsets it turns almost burnt orange, and looks totally spectular. Just don't want to ruin that.
I replaced most of my "weather-stripping." They call it moldings. The plastic that runs from the back window up the roof and down the front pillars. Also replaced the rear window molding. The actual weather-stripping around the side windows seems to be holding up fine. It was pretty easy except for getting the corners to fit into the rear glass. I think I stretched it out too much and the horizatal piece at the top of the window was way too big and had to stuff it in here. Pretty much all of it didn't totally seal up and after one of the FOUR hurricanes that hit I noticed there was an ankle deep puddle in the rear passenger footwell. I then resealed the strips w/black RTV as best I could to look decent (its alright) and hasn't (knock, knock) leaked again.

Mine ran up to 140 pretty easily. It was a short burst on H-rated tires (HIGHLY UNrecommanded). I wonder what the phyiscal top speed is. Actually, a decent H-rated tire should be fine in a short burst. Its running at a high speed for a distance that will kill a tire. Although I am not endorsing it in anyway.
Steven, if you plan to do some speed runs, you will probably want to go higher then a V-rated tire. V's are only rated at 149, W is 168, Y is 186, Z is 149+mph. I assume the Aurora's limit is under a Y-rated tire lol

Welcome schroom! I'll leave the origin of the nic alone, too many possibilities.... Anyway, yes, the southern weather really eats up weatherstripping. Wierd, but way more so than northern winters etc. The only thing worse is Phoenix et al. The desert sun is unrelenting in destroying all trim and dashes. We'd trade in a minute when we're in 2' of slushy mess tho. Glad to have ya aboard.

Welcome mushroom95. Get some silicone rubber protectant spray and apply every 60 days to keep those mouldings alive in that kind of weather. Just be careful and do not get any on your clearcoat finish.
