I was just recently browsing the web, checking out Aurora's, and I stumbled on this site... Awesome site by the way! Unfortunatley I dont own an Aurora.....yet. I'm currently looking. Im 24 years old from Chicago, IL. I have one question in looking for my new whip. What should i look for and be aware of in finding a used Aurora. Im looking for the classic 95-99 series. Any comments and suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

The man you want to talk to is Javi, he has a really nice black Aurora on 20's with a bunch of mods.
I suggest looking for a 98 or 99 model Aurora. Read around you'l find lots of cool information here.
And lastly welcome!

I would stay away from the 95s as they seem to have some bugs that where worked out in later models.

Low miles, one owner, maybe two. Autobahn option gives you a higher final drive ratio and no speed limiter. Just look inside the drivers door, if it says use V speed rated tires, it's an Autobahn (or check the RPO codes in the trunk for code of QQX for the V rated tires, and a code of FV4 for the final drive ratio of 3.71, but that's way harder). '98 and '99 years have several suspension improvements and a steering recalibration. Many of the early bugs are worked out like redesigned wheel speed sensors and the like. Options to check for on all models are heated seats, Bose stereo, 10 disc changer, sunroof and chrome wheels. Best of luck in your search.

Go for a 99 if you can find one.

Definetely stay away from the 1995s if you can.. low miles obviously. There's one in Morton Grove, IL (close to Chicago I guess) on ebay with only 54k miles!! That is very low considering the car is 10 years old by now... cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&category=6404&item=4556820394&rd=1&ssPageName=WDVWThough it's a 1996, versus the later 98-99 models, at least it's not a 95. Though, it looks pretty optionless; no sunroof, bose, cd changer, heated seats, chrome... but it is MINT condition, definetely worth checking out. The Auroras came with a lot of "options" standard, so really the only options that they came with were relatively extraneous.

That does not look bad at all, it looks like it's all there, that would definatelly be a step up for sure.

Yeah baby, go for a '98 or '99. Javi and I can tell you how great they are, plus we're both fellow Illinoisians! ;D Check this link from Autotrader.com ... all the currently listed '98 and '99 Auroras within 100 miles of Chicago. There are over 30. Happy browsing! I agree with everyone else on what to look for. Also know that just about the only "options" you'll find on classic Auroras are a power sunroof, heated front seats, Autobahn package (mentioned above), and chrome wheels. Other than that they're all loaded!
