I own a '95 bone stock ex florida grandma's aurora. Bought it 6 months ago with less than 55k on it. Original Goodyears and all. Secondary vehicle, so not much usage. Died on me today on the way to Orlando. Went to GM Parts Direct and ordered intake gaskets and a starter switch harness..... Plans are new V-rated tires. Anyone familiar with a suspension lowering kit? Ordered a Westers chip. The man on the phone (wish I remembered his name) told me "..these Auroras have too much egr".." this chip really wakes the car up" IT WORKS! Saw 135 on I-75 before having to back off. Estimate 140+ top speed. The term "Rocket Oldsmobile" comes to mind. The check engine light does come on after a good blast, so a new exhaust system is job 1. Time to go sailing with the captain, see ya!

Welcome! A big advantage to '95 owners is the availability of a chip. We OBDII guys don't have a thing like it. I like the idea of a grandma's car, low abuse factor. Sorry it caused you problems.

Does it have the autobahn option? Yeah.. definetely get some V-rated if you're going that speed - especially on original tires with 55k miles on them! Though that's a good thing to point out - the car hasn't seem much wear and it's been maintained very well, if the original tires are still going with 55k.. my Aurora certainly can't say that

No Autobahn option. the first time I hit the 110 mph limit it scared the S##t out of me at it 's abruptness. The car simply shut off with a loud clunk until 80 mph when it came back to life. I was incredulous. This technology and advanced design (IRL and INDY wins)and this thing craps out at 110 mph??!!! Purchased and installed the Westers chip and it is a totally different car.Now I must upgrade the exhaust and suspension systems to match. That is after I get it running again...

I never heard about a chip for the 95s, what is it exactly? I can't believe steven wouldn't have already got one. ;D
Welcome the club oldsvairguy. Where in FL do you live? I'm in PSJ which is directly east of Orlando about 5 miles from the coast (brevard county).

I am on the westcoast,20 miles south of Sarasota. The stretch of I-75 between Venice and Sarasota is an excellent straight stretch of road to run. The Westers Garage website is...westers_garage.eidnet.org Good people with a good product.

Welcome! More and more FL owners keep popping up! I've been interested in that chip too for the performance gains since I have the Autobahn option. So there's a definite performance gain? I think they claim to drop 1/4mi E/T from 16.4 to 15.6 or something like that, 7/10th of a sec I think.

Don't have the ability to clock my times, but on maiden voyage did smoke an '04 mustang cobra off the line on my way to top speed trials on the freeway.Aurora's are plentiful here in s.w. fla.(lots of grandmas and grandpas). If they only knew...

So a decent pick-up then, worth the $349(I think)?
Yea, mine actually came from the Ft. Myers area. It still has the original dealer business card in the owners manual case.

Thanks for all the shoutouts.First to betonthis1: My Aurora is the same color as yours. What is the name of the color? Second to 95rora: the westers website is westers_garage.eidnet.org To 95mushroom: The chip was $329.00 plus $20.42 shipping. Knowing that I won't be embarrased by Toyota's or Mazda's on the freeway:PRICELESS... Gave them my VIN and westers burned me a Performance MEMCAL which Removed the speed limiter and "tip in BOG" .Works for me!

Those people seem to know their cars from the website... Though it's a bit sketchy whether or not they know their Auroras very much. here - http://westers_garage.eidnet.org/scprice.htm they list the "94" aurora which isn't really possible, but ok, a common mistake... but then they list a 3.42 diff? What huh? Has the chip given you any serious problems? Perhaps write a detailed review in the reviews section if you get a chance.. people are always curious about these things, even me and I don't even have a 95 Aurora (or a 94
