I never thought I would be an Aurora owner but my parents were generous enough to lend me their 95 because they had not sold it yet and I needed to sell my Bonneville. Now I am pretty sure I am going to just buy it from them. Luckily it has been very reliable (especially for a 95). My mom bought it in 99 and now in 2005 it is still in the family with 174,000 on it. Can't wait to chat it up with you guys. Lata.

Welcome! Nice '95 "inheritance" you'll be getting there (I bet your parents will cut you a deal), and I love to hear of another classic that's nearing 200k. That's good news for my '99, which I would love to have that long. And you're in good company here also regarding previous Bonneville ownership... several of us are previous/current Bonnie owners. Good to have you at ACNA!

I am not surprised about the Bonneville thing. It seemed like everyday I would read about somebody else buying an Aurora on the Bonneville Club forums. Thanks for the warm welcome guys.

Nice work 'ade....why did you get rid of the Bonneville?

It had 196,000 miles on it, coolant was disappearing and it wasn't going on the ground, it needed new suspension, and it needed one other thing that I cannot remember at the moment. Basically with everything added up it made more sense to sell it now while I could still get some money for it. Now I am torn between keeping the Aurora and putting money into it as needed or getting something newer and more economical.

AH...dreaded L36 upper intake manifold failure. I hope the buyer of your SSE realizes that and gets it fixed before hydrolock happens.
What needs to be done to the Aurora?

No that was fixed right before I bought it unless it was happening again. The Aurora could probably use new shift solenoid(s) because it does that little stuttering bit in overdrive (although it doesn't seem as noticeable now). It was also a victim of a hit and run in a parking lot but the damage isn't that bad. I'm sure it could use new plugs and wires as well. It has the dreaded oil leak but it isn't bad (yet). The car still runs good, though. It has been very dependable for a 95.

Welcome. I like the black and white pic, classy with the dirt road look. Very distinctive, looks like it could be ad copy.
