Hello all,
My name is Joshua and I am now a proud owner of a Black/Tan 95 Aurora. I am from a small town called Trenton, Just north of Cincinnati OH. I have been wanting an Aurora since the first day that they came out, but the price sticker told me I couldn't have one, so I had to settle with an 97 olds LSS until about a month ago. I ran into this ad at www.postaroo.com. "95 Oldmobile Aurora 67k Clean Car and Runs Great" I called the number and the lady said she wanted $3500 for it. So, I went to look at it. When I got there, my mouth started watering because the car was so beautiful and I knew that I would get this car if everything was working ok. She wanted to sell the car because she got a divorce and wants the memories to go away. I took the car for a test drive and it started to leak fluid out of the radiator. I was not really concerned about the radiator because it was a very small leak. I drove it around for a couple of hours and everythingelse was fine. When I got back, I told her about the radiator and said that she would take the damages off of the price of the car. Well, I was about to write a check for the car and as soon as I got my pen out, she wanted to let me know that this was a rebuilt flood car. I got a little scared, so I told her that I wouldn't pay that much for a flood car even if it was rebuilt. I went home and did some research on the car and it was in a flood in a 2001 Cincinnati Flood with 20k on it. After a couple of days of tossing and turning, I figured I would call her up and make an offer on the car since it did have 40k extra miles on it since the flood. I offered her $1500 for the car and she was glad to take it. I was over joyed. I got the car home and it is like brand new. She even gave me a 1995 Aurora/Riviera Service Manual G-Platform. Since then, I have had a few tiny issues with the car. The TCC would not kick in and the cruise would not work. That was a result of a blown HVAC fuse which I haven't gotten the slightest clue how it blew, but it works fine now. The other problem was my seats stopped working. I haven't looked into that yet, but i'm sure its the switches. Well, thats a little about me and my car. I hope I did not bore you.
I am going to put bigger rims and a system in it soon and maybe tint the windows. I think I am getting too old for this, but why not have all the goodies.
I will have some pics on her by this weekend.
Oh yeah, Thanks for letting me be a part of this site.
Thanks for looking
Joshua
