Ok, so all the sigs are kind of annoying me again. Are they anyone else? It would be a lot better if a sig only appeared in a person's first post of a thread, and not in subsequent post in the thread. If two people are posting back and forth, and one has a long, image-filled sig, it's pretty annoying. Oh, and hey Jim, you "purging" old threads? I could swear I posted this before, but I can't find it.

You posted it on OF Heres the deal. Personally I like sigs. But, I can appreciate a happy medium for those who don't. So.
1. Sig pics must not exceed 400x150 pixels (based on an industry average screen resolution of 1024x768)
2. Sig pics must not exceed 35kb
3. Right now Proboards doesnt offer the option to turn on/off your signature with each post. ThereforeIf the poll ends with an overwhelming lean towards no images in sigs, then so be it. Lets see how it goes.

I voted 'Only when the same sig is in a thread twice' but then I read Jims post. Can you change the vote choices to
annoying
not annoying

You can't ask people to vote on a nonexistent choice.

I talked to Amanda on the phone about this tonight, we came to the consensus that image sizes must be controlled and may not exceed 400x150 (check my sig pic for correct size).
Like I said, if there is overwhelming replies that lean towards the no sig direction then so be it.

the size is a gay size limit. mine meets the requirements of every other forum that i've posted on, and this is the avarage size of a signature.
not to mention everything on this signature is hand drawn.

No, there is nothing wrong with the sexuality of the signature policy Regardless of what other forums do, this forum max is 400x150. Please change it. Your talent for graphic art is impressive, however, it can still be enjoyed at a smaller size. Your co-operation is appreciated.

Hey Radeon, most boards I'm on don't allow any images at all in signatures, and usually only 3 lines of text. So that's not the norm of all other forums. Also, all that really matters is that it doesn't meet the rules here.
And what does being hand-drawn have to do with the size? It's not like the image or imaging software know how it was created. It can still be reduced in size and dimension like any other binary image.
Also, FYI, folks still feel free to vote on this. I don't think it'll change the rule, but I was just kidding with my driving car signature. ;D

Radeon,
This is a different forum then others you have been on. We don't mind that you have a signature, in fact, we welcome it. The thing is, when changes are made to this forum, the changes made are done with other people's input. Everyone is welcome here, granted they have something worthwhile and meaningful to say. We just ask that those members conform to the boundaries that are set with everyone in mind. The changes are not the end of the world, we just like some things dones certain ways. We ask that you resize your signature so that it is a little smaller. Thank you for you cooperation in this matter.

But regardless, that's the rule here. Who cares what other forums let you do? What are we, little kids who think we should get to stay up as late as the kid next door?

I think you have to remember that some people out in the boonies still have to use a modem to connect - it's very frustrating to have to download short messages that take forever just because of the sig. I don't mind pictures of people's cars, but to download a sig for the umpteenth time is very annoying. Small sigs are better.

I don't even have a signature but majority rules and I think you need to follow the administrators rules, period. I do enjoy others peoples signatures just not talented enough to put one of my own on.
