Would anyone be interested in this little project?
The high school I graduated from has screenprinting presses, vinyl cutting machines, license plate machines (i'll post one i made last year) and i could bring it up to my teacher to help raise money for the graphics art department, the only thing is that i don't want to be stuck with all these shirts and stickers if nobody is going to buy them. So if there's alot of interest, I would like to know if i should contact my teacher.
Thanks.

I did start a thread about ACNA merchandise, asking for people’s ideas. Also anything with the ACNA name or soon to be introduced logo will come from me unless otherwise authorized by me or my admins.

Also, since we do not have licensing rights from GM to use the name Oldsmobile, General Motors or Aurora, and it generates a revenue, we could potentially land into some trouble. So, if we choose to do something like this, we need our own logo and possibly explore taking care of the legal issues regarding copyrighted trademarks. Not to take anything away from the idea Kev, but we gotta make sure its done properly

What's stopping me from copyrighting that idea, and making shirts on my own?

I think it would fall under the intellectual copyright laws. Everyone nows that ACNA is Amanda's baby, so what she says about ACNA would be considered law in my book.
Kevin,
Noone is stopping you from making shirts. It is just that the use of anything General Motors (or any big company for that matter) related could lead to ugly lawsuits (especially if it's use contributes to any tyoe of profit).
I say that we should head back on the topic road and discuss more ACNA merchandising and/or fundrasing ideas.
Jim,
Maybe you could hook us up with a cool product from your buddy Ty's company. We can trade him some advertising space on our rolling billboards.
Just a thought.
Anyway, lets stay on the topic and get of the copyright kick.
Good job all.

Not to be arrogant, but i can hang with the best of alot of people in this forum with photoshop skills. I just don't choose to use it as often as I could. I could design an insane logo and banner for this site, but would in turn be a waste of time, because of the tunnelvision moderation and administration (Jim is excluded from this description, as is ERW38). I have the ability to make many things for this "club", but I get b*tched at with poor grammar about why I can't. I was even going to do it in my free time for NO PROFIT.
I have the ability to make a NICE website, get vBulletin (omg swear word) software, a great host with no downtime whatsoever (literally), but this all gets frowned upon by somebody who has no idea about the internet.

We've only got 3 admins, things take time. Patience is a virtue.

General Motors takes it copyrights very seriously. Over at BonnevilleClub our club Treasurer went to great lengths to contact the General to ask permission if we could use their copyrighted names and logos for the benefit (non profit) of the club. They evantually agreed with strict requirements.
No one in their right mind is going to take the time to design and produced any products without financial motivation or bottom line.
In order to produce and sell products, a certain order of operations must be followed. I NEVER stated that ACNA is copyrighted, only logos and products from GM.
NOW, for the last *** ***** time. Keep your personal issues regarding ANY adminstration of this site to yourself. We all have formulated opinions on members and thats fine, just shut up about it please.
As a final word, I have stated many times that I would like members to design a site logo, make it distinctly unique by incorporating many elements regarding the vehicle. Once our homepage is complete (timeline unknown) proper legal verbage will be included.

No one in their right mind is going to take the time to design and produced any products without financial motivation or bottom line. I dissagree with that statement. Oftentimes people will do things purely for the love of the task and the knowledge that whoever they are doing the good deed for will benefitt from it. So not everything is related to money. Most everything is, but not all. ;D
