Supastealth, milkar, and Dred98 gave me an idea for another useless thread. The Aurora is certainly a memorable car. What other memorable cars have you owned? I'll start it out.
1952 Chevy Deluxe, 32,000 original miles, 1 owner 1971 Datson 240Z, great fun but electrical nightmare 1961 Lincoln Continental Convertable, suicide doors, everything worked 1965 GTO, pure power 1993 Probe GT, still a great design 1969 Fiat 124, we called it Popogigio 1998 Aurora, the champ

It looks like I'm about average in my "fleet" ownership over the years. All of mine have been memorable! In order of ownership... 1983 Buick Park Avenue ... my first car 1973 Buick Electra 225 ... aka "The Pimpmobile" (before that was an everyday slogan!) 1969 Pontiac Executive ... aka "Big P", and I've still got it! 1996 Dodge Avenger (my wife's car) ... small, but reliable, effecient & kinda sporty 1992 Chevy Caprice 9C1 ... police-package, baby! 1998 Pontiac Bonneville SLE ... a legacy too short, due to an engine fire 1999 Olds Aurora ... enough said. ;D

I really like the 2K Max, that 3.5L V6 is a GREAT car, if I had to get a "utility' Japanese car, the Max would take the cake.
Nice cars everyone! wow!

Here goes:
*1975 Pontiac Catalina- boring, but roomy and cheap to buy back in 1979
*1978 Oldsmobile Cutlass Supreme Brougham- stylish, and very comfortable. Got rid of it for a (yikes!) Fiat Spyder
*1982 Fiat Spyder 2000 Convertible- sexy, sporty, fun to drive, but very impractical. Surprisingly dependable, but crummy fit & finish.
*1983 Ford Mustang Convertible- Nice to look at, but overall a piece of garbage. Cheaply built.
*Oldsmobile Cutlass Supreme Convertible- My first brand new car. Gorgeous, head-turning machine. Unfortunately, it leaked with every rain (in Florida no less where summer monsoon season meant carrying a stack of towels in the car) So-so workmanship.
*1995 Oldsmobile Aurora- Bought brand new. My baby and pride & joy. Best car overall I have ever owned. I guess I have been lucky because I have around 88K on it and virtually no maintenance problems outside of warranty work and ordinary wear & tear stuff like tires and a tune-up.

1987 Ford Tempo - Trabant performance, box van handling and SUV gas milage LOL! Nice description... My grandparents had a maroon Ford Tempo like this one for several years... memorable because I spent lots of time in as a grandkid. Once I got to driving age, we used to jokingly call it "Crimson Fury". ;D

Anyone got pics of their cars? Since we have such an expansive list Do I?! ;D Now you asked for it... here's everything except the '96 Avenger: 1983 Buick Park Avenue (2 door!), before the mag wheels. 1973 Buick Electra 225, before and after the paint job and tinted windows. 1969 Pontiac Executive, one with the Electra (stock wheels) in the background and one with my Aurora behind. 1992 Chevrolet Caprice 9C1, with '94 police rims and tinted windows 1998 Pontiac Bonneville SLE And the Aurora you've seen...

The 3 cars & 1 aggravation machine that I have owned, in chronological order.... My first car, a 1957 Olds Super 88. This is not the actual car, though. I never took a pic of it back then. I found this one on the net. Mine was gold, as opposed to the light blue one shown here. The red X is here in place of the aggravation machine, a 1966 Cutlass Supreme, AKA "THAT TRAP". I don't want to put a picture of garbage on here. The engine compartment of the 1972 442 W-25 455 that I drove for 29 years. And my 2001 Aurora 4.0....the best of the bunch _______________ GM!!! BRING BACK OLDS!!!

Here was my Corvette: I didn't want to list every car, just memorable ones. But I should add another. I had a 1987 Chevy Celebrity that really was just a great beater car. It was comfortable, got 30+mpg when needed, and was ultra reliable. It always got me where I needed to go.

Wow! So many awesome cars! Good show people. Really too many fabulous examples to pick out any one vehicle. However RocketV8's Cutlass for brute force and Aurora40's Vette for style points come to mind. Supastealth wins for number of wrecked cars (from another thread). Except for kobalt and myself, the trend seems to be for good ol' Detroit Iron. No trucks were mentioned. I could have mentioned a 1949 Jeep Willies truck that we used to run our oil wells, but it was really owned by my Dad, I just abused it. No one has a Hummer they still love? ;D

quote: " No trucks were mentioned. "
When I started my latest "carsearch" last year that ended with me owning an Aurora, top of my shopping list was a Chevy pick up, extended cab/short box with the 5.7 litre motor - I decided on a car instead -(no regrets).

Howard, I'm selling that exact truck right now! With a premium cap, Z-71 package, tow package, Silverado interior package, 4WD, Kuhmo performance tires. Make offer, get out of that nasty old maintainence hog Aurora. J/K Actually I've been holding off selling for either lower fuel prices or colder weather, 4WD and all will sell better with winter coming on. (I hope)

No trucks were mentioned. The first vehicle I owned was a 1982 Ford Ranger that I bought for $25. It lasted almost exactly one year.

My tempo had the sport red outside, red inside theme - it dripped of sarcasm! ;D LOL never have I seen a car with more red in it. The only thing that was black was the guage cluster, light switch and tires. Hell (pun intended), even the turn signals were red!

Also posted this in Ages topic, but it made more sense to have it here. So here it is First car: 1989 Ford Mustang 4-cylinder - Was given to me, ran nicely for the half-year I kept it, no balls whatsoever, engine froma Model-T, sold it for a grand with 189k on her. I was happy #2: 1985 Cadillac Sedan DeVille - A love-hate relationship-loved cruising in her, but she kept my bank account dry, although she never left me stranded or hard-up for cash. Just kept me from making any Oh well, memories are priceless Some damn bastard broke into her and f**ked up the driver's door and stole my stereo. Sold her after about 6-8 months with around 180k on the odo and left over paint damage on door (never got around to painting my bondo job on the door) for $1050 cash. #3 (Current car): 1993 Pontiac Bonneville SE - Great car, love her, but an accident and some resulting tribulations (don't ask) have turned her into a paintless bondo machine. Hate to let her go, would love to see her made 'whole' again, but that wonderful '97 Aurora waits in the wings for a mere $3200 Giving up one love for another. That's healthy Well, their ya go.

Okay steven, two things: #1 - 56k WARNING! lol, those are some big ass pics #2 - When did you parents win the lottery, and why must they have such damn good taste? S-type is pretty nice (not wowed by 'em, but they are a nice car) but that S600, with that V-12 Damn nice car One of the only recent Mercs that look decent nowadays, IMO. The rest have those damn bug eyes But a damn nice collection, to be sure! What year is that Merc, BTW?
