tell me what you think about these rims. They're the ones I had on my Riviera before I sold it. I'd like to use them just because I want a winter, and a summer set of tirse. The stock good year tires will go on my summer (spoked) rims and my Yokohama Ice Guard tires will go on the factory rims. This isn't set in stone yet so I'm just getting some oppinions first. Personally I don't think it looks half bad. Looks much better than I had first thought it would. The rims are 16" BTW and weigh in at only 16 pounds each! I'm too lazy to figure out photoshop right now even though I have it so I just took the easy way out and held the rims up to the car. lol.

Hey, not for me, but on you...it looks good. Really. Seriously though, I couldn't see them on my Classic, but on the 2nd Gen, it works. Know watta I mean?
P.S. I'm teasing. I like the look.

The lines on the 2nd gen look a little more sharp the the flared, bulging Classic. The straight lines of those rims work ok on the 2nd gen.
The more swoopie style rims suit the Classic, at least thats how I see it.
Put em on Custom, if you dont like them, at least you have the stocks to go back to (seeing as they are both 16")

any 2nd Gen owners have any insight on this? These were the rims on the Riviera (more of a closeup and they're actually clean. lol)

I think they look nice. They don't overpower the rest of the car. They aren't like the absolute perfect rim for the car, but I think they look good. I wonder if you could do something with the wide flat part of the center cap? That would go a long way, as that part of the rim looks a bit clunky.

I do think they looked better on your Riviera (and I'm sure you probably agree, since you bought them for that car)... but I see no problem with them on the Aurora at all. Not really a huge improvement over the stock 6-spokes IMO, but a nice equal trade if you like them better. Otherwise look for some chrome.

Back off Scotty. Custom only wants opinions from elitist 2nd Gen owners, as noted below. any 2nd Gen owners have any insight on this?

Back off Scotty. Custom only wants opinions from elitist 2nd Gen owners, as noted below. lol. I didn't mean it like that. Just seems like a lot of the 2nd gen owners are quiet when it comes to this type of question. I hope I really don't sound like an a$$ all the time. i don't mean to.

I hope I really don't sound like an a$$ all the time. i don't mean to. Nah, that's LettuceRoll's job... and he does it like no other, lol! ;D I guess us Classic owners just can't keep our mouths shut. Me answering your question was perfect evidence of that, I suppose!

Lettuce what the hell did you do to that sig? I commissioned a very exclusive artist in South Jersey to render a painting from one of my pics and posted the result here. The original is hanging at the country club. Cost me a little over $20k, but it's worth it, don't you think?

Only if it was autographed by the artist, the illustrious Mr. Shop... Actually the work is unique enough that I believe it was a piece by his twin brother... Mr. P. Shop

Hey... now I'm starting to take offense. South Jersey is a beautiful land of wilderness, family farms, and artist communities. It's the North Jersey Sopranoland that besmirches the entire state. And the artist wasn't P. Shop. It was Pan Ansonic.

alright. I did a photoshop of the rims. (yes they turned out kind of bad.. lol) Well, I'm not sure really. I like the way both look really. I do like the chrome wheels because they're classy, but the spoked ones are sporty looking. Hard decision. The spoked rims have a green tint to them because I took the rims from a picture of the Riviera when it was on grass. it was the only picture I had of them that showed them actually being clean. The green makes them look really funky. :?

I just redid the photoshop and did a little extra work to get rid of the green glow from the rims. lol. Looks much better now. Looks like the rims are actually on the rims. If I didn't know it was a photoshop I don't think i would be able to even tell!

i like them both. chrome is neat and so is spoke. yup. exactly my dilemma. STock chrome=luxury. Spoked Aftermarket=light weight and sporty.

Which is more resistant to the weather? Which is cheaper to replace? So which would make a better winter wheel? Perhaps that'll help you decide.
Is the spoked one actually lighter? GM makes some pretty light wheels.
