They look great. How much difference can you tell on a dark road? Is it a night and day difference?

its not just a bulb change its a conversion kit, the fog lights are stock, the parking lights are the white ones with the blue coated bulbs, and i got the kit off ebay for a lil under $300. Oh yeah, just used them tonight, big difference, uh wait til i get my headlights realigned( theyve always been maladjusted) and ill give you a definite on HID vs stock.

Nice set up there, they look super, oh you will notice the big difference at night, is like you were restricted to only so much light, now with an HID kit, bam much better, don't you agree.

yeah, i noticed that even though my headlights arent aligned right, every sign for like up to a mile away that was reflective, i could see the color of my lights in, its the same way with the license plates on cars! its awesome, i cant wait to level these babies out.

oh yeah, something else about the installation, the ONLY reason it took 30 min was because my airbox was being a beotch to get back together, so, lets say you didnt have to deal with pulling your airbox out, this installation would literally take about like 5-8 mins. its real easy.

Geez... I'd suspect oncoming traffic can't wait for you to level them out either.

i just got low beams, and about the oncoming traffic, i got the 8000k lights, which arent the brightest, i think you can get 3500k which would be ridiculously blinding bright. you see the higher the kelvin # the dimmer/ bluer the lights are gonna be. the dimmest are like the 12000k which people basically just use for show cars.

Those look sweet!!!
6000K would be white straight on and a touch of blue from an angle.

On the Aurora you would have to get a kit that's size 9005 for the high beams. The Classic and 2nd Generation Auroras have the high beams 9005, low beams 9006. I really don't think it's that serious now.

Take some pictures of the light shining on the garage door. Some things that should be said: 1) The factory wiring harness really isn't made to support HID systems. THe HID balasts can pull HUGE amounts of current on startup. 2) Having a HID system for lows is bad unless the HID's stay on all the time, Having a seperate HID system for high's is very bad and will eat up bulbs fast. 3) All HID kit's are highly illegal 4) Almost all halogen headlights that have HID "kits" installed result in lots of glare. Glare will reduce the effective lighting and will blind oncoming drivers. I have seen "kits" that put out less usable light than the stock halogens. The glare is a result of different focal points of HID bulbs, many sites say that their bulbs are "rebased" to work in halogen headlights, but the truth of the matter is that most of the time they don't work well at all. For any of you who really want better light you should think about doing a HID retro. A retro uses factory components (which are FAR more reliable than any of the "kit's" components). You basically get the HID system off of a Acura/BMW/Merc./Audi and make the components fit in your existing headlights (which isn't to hard). You could also go with HI R bulbs that will give you an increase in lighting without any negative side effects. These are the next generation in halogen lighting. HIR discussion thread, and links to productsCheck out www.hidplanet.com/forums/ for more info on HID systems. BTW, a retro costs about $400-600+ dollars, it may be worth the money to invest in this if you are strictly looking for function, over form. Sorry, not trying to sound like a jerk, just pointing out to people what happens when HID kits are installed in some/most cars, not all, and that in almost every case you could get better lighting out of a retro. Still want to see some wall shots, that would tell how good these kits are. Anyways, kudos for the mod at least.

YEs, HID kits are highly illegal, as in if a cop recognizes you have them, which is easy with a 6000+ K kit, they will probably pull you over in a heartbeat. There has been a BIG crackdown on HID "kits" and they all are actually banned from being sold. Many of these "kit" companies used to sell these things as "For Off-Road use only" and they would sell them legally, but after the crack down they cannot sell them at all and they just sell them "backdoor" or "under-the-table" through e-bay and such. A good discussion about HID "kits" if your interested. There is some very good pictures showing how a HID "kit" can go bad (and some pics showing how HID's "should" look). Kit Discussion, and some interesting pictures
