Hey Jim/everyone, I have just moved back to Ontario from Calgary. Just wondering if anyone knows of a good 'Aurora mechanic' in the Burlington area (or nearby). Thanks

The best Aurora guys I know are here in Mississauga at Briar Wood, they always do nice work with my car in event of a "disaster" heh. Its a bit far (20 kms) or so from Burlington. If you do go there, tell em I sent ya

Thanks Jim! I will let them know you referred me - when I go that is. Right now I have some nagging issues but they aren't major. My antenna won't retract but I can hear the motor running (likely a rubber belt broke inside) and my passenger side window won't work (thankfully it's up already....likely a switch) and recently my traction control turns itself off.......that could mean a HUB replacement I fear. None the less, I will likely head there for my next scheduled oil change at 150km......I just hope they let me bring my own Mobil 1. I am used to some of the GM dealerships in Alberta which allowed me to bring my own oil and stand alongside the car in the bays the entire time for ANY kind of work they were doing. Is there a specific person I should request? ps, I will also flip you a note to your hotmail, just to be sure I have the right surname re: the referral. Thanks again for the referral. Cheers, Chris

Just give em a call, ask for Kim in service, or if shes not there, Jeff is another good guy to talk to, so is Gino...heh. My SSEi is there for oil change before it sells, I will let em know you are planning to call. I doubt highly you will get a price break on labour (you know dealers...lol) etc....but never hurts to take your car to a reputable place.

Much appreciated Jim! I plan on taking the Rora there for my next scheduled oil change.....which isn't for about 2300 km's but at least I know of a place I can try out and feel comfortable in doing it. Cheers, Chris

I got mine at the dealer auction, my buddy has a dealer license and he always gets cars for good prices. I got my 03' for less than $13,000 canadian!!!! It had a little higher K's at just under 96,000 km's but this is a Aurora V8, so the engine is just getting warmed up... Cheers...

Alright, I'll start a new thread? Assemble a roster etc. I'd be up for a day or 2 event, depending on attendees.

For anyone close to Niagara Falls and interested, there is a "Hot Rod" night every Sunday evening in the sumer. They congregate on Lundy's Lane and fill the whole plaza parking lot of No Frills(between Drumond and Dorchester Rd) Here you can walk around and see just about anything that rolls. There is 1 die hard guy that drives his car in from Fort Erie (about 25 kms) and goes through a minimum of $60.00 worth of gas. But yeah, Niagara Falls would be a great place to have a Aurora get-together.

With Niagara we can get some people from the states. As chaqueno stated, we could go for hot rod show. How far is everyone from Niagara? I am around 215km away... so it can be done likely. my1stluv how far are you from it?

GF? Anyways i made a map with two meeting points, Detroit/Windsor or the Falls. I think it should depend on the most people able to com to a specific location. [glow=red,2,300]CANADIAN[/glow] ACNA: Remember, I believe we all need passports to ship cocaine... I mean cross the border. I do not know how it is for the American, wether they can just cross with drivers licenses or they need passports as well. So if some of us do not have passports, we will need to meet on the Canadian side more likely.

Hey JimW, what do you think? Detroit, London, the Falls... I think we have to first see who is interested and able to do something august and then we can find a suitable location for the majority.

Agreed. I'm ok with London or Niagara, I'd rather stay within a 200km radius of home, so that makes London the farthest southwest, Port Perry farthest northeast and I guess Barrie-Orillia north and The Falls south.

Right now I am heading off to bed, but if no one else makes a new thread, I will tomorrow. It will explain what we talked about, and I will also look into the passport thing for the americans and us.
