Have you got anything hashed out yet? Where would you think of meeting? I'm closer to southern PA, northwestern MD than Delaware is! I live in northern Virginia. What are you all thinking of doing?

I would Ideally like to have a meet in that area when the GM show goes to Carlisle, PA. I think that would be a great meeting place and have lots of events as well. 2004 Carlisle All-GM Nationals opens Friday, June 18. That's obviously a little too soon to realistically arrange something. Although Fall Carlisle I think is a more reasonable idea. Sept 29 -Oct 3 a) it would give people a chance to get time off from work (if need be) b) book hotel accommodations etc. www.carlisleevents.com/Check out some of the events, at the official site. I know when I think about planning meets, I want a lot to go into it. I want events to attend, attractions to see, and a good number of people to turn out for the meet. The Aurora meets specifically would be a reflection of our club so It needs to be great. :0Þ

The Aurora meets specifically would be a reflection of our club so It needs to be great. :0Þ So what does this mean? Is that date on? Will there be a club area on the grounds for us? Do you need an idea of how many cars would be there before you could get an area? Or will we just meet sans cars at the show?

It really depends... The meet if we have enough interest is on, and it appears we do. As far as ACNA specific section on the grounds that would depend on how many people will attend and what it will cost if anything.
If this is really something people want to do we should start trying to organize it. I will go check out the carlisle site now and see what I can stir up.

I've sent away for a packet with more info on lodging, specific events, vistors guides etc. I also came across this. I would need to know who definitely would be planning on attending...
"Carlisle Events offers a FREE 20' x 20' tent to each car club that registers a minimum of 25 vehicles at an event for use as your club headquarters.
New clubs that want to participate or clubs that didn't meet the 25 vehicle requirement in 2003 will need to make a $145 pre-payment. If the club meets the 25 vehicle requirement in 2004, (based on Carlisle Productions' computer registration records), the prepaid tent fee of $145 will be reimbursed after the event to the club official who initiated the arrangements. "

We don't need a tent, though, do we? If there was just a place on the show grounds for us to park Auroras. I don't think 25 cars will show up. How many cars are required just to have some show/lawn space?
Otherwise, our cars would be all over the place in different parts of Carlisle. We might meet each other, but we'd never see each others' cars.

I think the tent is for the people... not for the cars... If there won't be an actual area for Auroras, would it maybe make sense to put it off until next years' All-GM meet? Or if you're gonna just meet up, how about at Corvettes at Carlisle instead? At least that show is interesting. The only interest I'd have in the Fall Carlisle is the fact that there'd be an Aurora gathering. The show itself doesn't appeal to me much. But that's just one opinion, what do others think?

Well I am going to post something in Nationals Section about the fall Carlisle meet. I should also be receiving my packet in the mail any day now. Which will answer most if not all our questions on what goes on when a car club goes to these shows. Also, next year any further Aurora meets in that area will be held in June for the all GM nationals. We just hadn’t formed into enough of a club to be worth going this June…

So does anyone want to meet up from this area since Carlisle won't happen until next year? We could just meet up at a local cruise-in kind of thing. I'd be willing to drive up to western MD or southern PA if that's closer to you folks. Or down VA, though Richmond is about 2+ hours from me. Would any of you chuckle-heads want to meet up at a run-what-you-brung type of night at a 1/4 mile track? 75-80 Dragway in Monrovia, MD has them on Friday nights until about October. I think down near Richmond or VIR in Virginia there is a 1/4 mile track that is open to the public on Fridays also. I wish that people's location was shown in their info by each post, would make it easier to know who's near you.
