Oh yeah, right, travel involves more than gas, the PA Turnpike will cost about $15 in that trip as well. And as the song goes, "Never on a Sunday." Thanks, but no thanks on this one. Well, should everyone else just spend the money for gas then and drive to your place? On the map, the closest person I see to Binghamton, NY is you, at 50 miles. The next closest person is 180 miles away. The closest person to your location is Steven, who's about 170 miles away from you. So I'd think it's reasonable to expect that if you want to meet up with these people, you are going to have to drive a bit, as would everyone else. While Englishtown might cost money, it's because you are paying to partake in an activity. Unless everyone just hangs around in a parking lot, it's going to cost money to do something.

Activity - great idea - I say we all meet in a parking lot and gang-wax each others cars!

Just FYI, Stevenolds, Letitroll, Omegaic, Marc, and Blondie1483 are all withing 50-80 miles of Englishtown. 20InchOlds is 150 miles away, Oldsauroraman is 180 miles away, and I'm 220 miles away. TJM can suck it up because he's only 250 miles away.

Bad day at work? No one here, including myself is demanding that we go to a certain place . . . are they? There's a lot of guys that are in New England and the obvious thing to do- and respectuful to them - is have a meet up that way and another in the DELMARVA area. Simple enough.

whoa...time out! Can we please stop rippin on each other.
Its an ACNA meet suggestion thread, not a be-all end-all location battle. If its to far, don't come.
I drove over 500 miles last week and it was great!, ok it wasnt for a meet, but even it if was, its a great road trip adventure.
If you're within 500 miles...show up! ;D Its worth it.

What about Toronto? It'll give us something to do. Hockey Hall of Fame induction takes place Nov. 6 - 8, I believe. Any Cam Neely fans? You guys are probably too young. Heck there wasn't even NHL hockey last year.
Those dates are weekdays. Some of us work. Some are on parole and can't leave the country. Bad idea. Nevermind. My bad.

I'm not sure if you actually read what I wrote or not? But perhaps I should take it personally that you don't want me there since I'm the only person in Delaware, Maryland, or Virginia. However, I am certainly willing to drive to New England and meet up. What alternatives are you suggesting that is respectful to New England (silly disrespectful me thought New Jersey was part of New England)? I doubt anything will be close enough to include Mac up there in Maine. You could shift the meeting closer to Connecticut, but what would you meet up to do? Plus, you'd just have to buy more gas...

Oh wow, only $100. Plus gas, that's only $150. It's less than 200 miles from you. It shouldn't cost you $50 in gas to go 400 miles. Also, one of the days is $40, not $100. But whatever, I'll refrain from suggesting anything else. I have been to E-Town frequently with my Vette. I would strongly suggest not going to a Sunday test and tune. The reason why it's $100 as opposed to $40 is that it's set up for the highly modified pro street/ dragster type of cars. I believe they charge more because of greater track prep and to keep street vehicles away. They probably don't even allow street tires because they ruin the track for the slick guys. That being said, a Saturday test and tune is a great idea.

With all due respect, why not give folks in New England a better option, simple as that. This is a matter of Aurora owners on this board getting together in a way that is convenient for them. Englishtown is 235 miles from me, not 180. That is too far for me for a one day trip. No problem, some of us don't have the means that others do to spend their money in such a way.

Bob, do you have a mapquest to that place that you suggested is only ~100 miles from me? I cant figure out where it is.
One thing though, I really only want to go if we have some more people this time. It would be uber if Jim could make it, cause i really wanna check out his machine. 7-8 ppl would make it a awesome trip. Whatever goes though, Im up for a drive just to get out of WC.
Id say i would do 150 miles max i think. Possible a little more but 200 is really pushing it for a 1 day trip. Lets just find a location that is closest to all the folks that want to attend, and pick that one.

If you're talking about Raceway Park in Englishtown, Steven...there is an entry on the Aurora map. That'll at least give you a clue where it is at. (3rd from the bottom) www.frappr.com/auroraclubofnorthamerica

Wherever the meet is held I would suggest a nearby gym with a boxing ring and 16oz gloves be made available. Bare knuckles in the parking lot causes way too much blood to be spilt and the fight ends too quickly for the amusement of most onlookers. But perhaps a hockey game will break out if we go to Toronto. I though the original thread asked about a spring meet which would give plenty of time to plan time off from work and to let tempers cool down. Other than the Raceway, Englishtown is even slightly more boring than Binghamton. So it would be a race day event there. Perhaps New York City with a theater outing or a Yankees game would be fun. Maybe we could go camping.
