The funerals date is set for wednesday so I should be back in time. Sorry to hear about your grandfather. Hopefully you can make it out, but we certainly understand if you don't.

Wooo I dont know if I'll be able to sleep tonight! I'm excited! I spent 4 hours detailing my car today so it looked nice next to all the other 'rora's. Only 4 hours? I guess you just really don't care much about your car. That certainly wouldn't allow enough time to toothpick the crevices in the dash or Q tip the air vents, humph, Aurora lovers my.... J/k of course. I had the same deal, a few hours after work until the sun began to set. I sort of cheated and got the $25 wash at lunch, then went over the top of that after work. I won a performance award at work and get off an hour early on Fridays and still went to about 7:30 finishing, but I'm old and slow. It looks like the diner at 11ish then. I think that adds up to five at the diner and two at the track? I don't know if it's sad or happy that this will be the biggest meet yet. Don't forget your cameras and sunscreen. P.S. I have received a PM that now says six at the diner, if anyone's still home to read this.

Kudos to Christine for reviving/arranging this meet, and everyone else in that area for making it happen! It's cool to see members be able to get together and sport their rides. My favorite shot:

Agree! It's a nice touch to have the driver posing next to each car. Great pics (from all the meet threads)!

This is a repeat of the post I made on Aurora Showroom. I don't know where it should quite go. You know what would be kewl? There is a big Oldsmobile club around here, Delaware Valley Oldsmobile Club clubs.hemmings.com/clubsites/delvaloldsclub/index.html (a chapter of the national club, we met some of them at Carlisle last year), we should set up the next meet at one of their functions. They're very informal, they love new members and prospective members, and it would work if we had a big turn out or a small one. I'll check their schedule... Ok, I'm back (gotta love the internet) they have a couple of things, the next event on their main page is Oct 8: clubs.hemmings.com/clubsites/delvaloldsclub/DVOCfallshow2006.pdfThey do have a caravan scheduled to go to the 21st Annual Blue Grey Chapter Fall Show Antique Automobile Club of America Museum, Hershey Pa. on Sept 24, but I don't imagine many would go for that. On their calender they have Sept 22-24, Fall Englishtown, Raceway Park, Englishtown, NJ racewaypark.com/ , but I don't think that's an event they're going to as a club. I've always thought we should have a larger presence in the national Olds club, maybe this would be a good intro....

Good job, Dan. I see you're already interested in getting together again. The Oct. 8th looks interesting. It's a little further than the racewaypark, but I could make it a whole day trip.
Anybody else from the area up for this? or any of the other meets for that matter?

Heheh, that's only 170 miles from me, so it's about an hour closer than Englishtown...

Yeah, it's one exit west on the PA Turnpike from the last Philly exit heading west. And it's only about 15 minutes past it at that. It looks to be more of a picnicy, family friendly kinda place than Englishtown. I saw trees in the pictures. clubs.hemmings.com/clubsites/delvaloldsclub/Event_Pictures/2004_Fall_Show/2004_fall_show.html Seems to be a small event, so we wouldn't be swamped in a sea of Hot Cars, but big enough to have something to look at. Lots of 442's and Cutlass's it seems, mostly stock restored. Perhaps we could be like Greeks bearing gifts, have a give away like free lemonade or something, cupcakes maybe, I don't know, something to make folks stop by and say hello instead of looking at us like girls at a 7th grade dance. If everybody seems interested, I could contact the club and scope out the reception.
