I picked up some Turtle Wax Platinum series plastic/vynl/leather protectant and I just have to tell you it is awesome! I used it mostly on the door panels, dash, and the black trim on the interior. The black trim around the climate control/radio on both the 2nd gen and classic start to turn a dark grey/charcoal color but with this it turned it black and somewhat shiny. (it doesn't blind you.) Just gives it a very nice wet look to it. The best part is that after you clean it, the car begins to smell like very expensive leather. It's like when you buy a brand new pair of leather shoes, it kind of smells like that. It makes the leather interior smell very nice. It doesn't cause glare and excessive shine like armorall either so that's nice but it does make surfaces scratch resistant and smooth.

Thanks for the product review. It's always good to learn of a new product that actually works well based on someone's actual experience.

I really should have gotten some "before" pictures but didn't think of it. But, here are the 'after' pictures. ha. You probably won't notice but before the center black peices were kind of a grey, not black looking. Looks much nicer now IMO.

I think Armor All is turning it around with their newer lines of stuff.
A few questions, though. Does it feel greasy? If you touch the plastic, does it get on your finger? And in the shot of the DIC, around the DIC buttons and the hazard button, the finish looks uneven. Is it just the lighting/photo, or does the product apply a bit unevenly (as glossy products can tend to)? Thanks!

It does however have that slippery feel to it, but it's nothing that gets on your hands. The finish is somewhat uneven but I just think it's because when I did it I was in a hurry and might not of applied it totally even. I'd have to do a better job probably to tell for sure. Also, the bottle recommended to get some onto a clean rag and apply and I just applied it directly to the surface (yeah. I'm stupid) so that probably has something to do with it too. I got the stuff at Advance Auto and it was only something like $4.50/bottle.

Heheh, you almost never want to spray any product onto a surface. You can probably use that stuff on your leather too, if it's water-based. You might check the label to see if it mentions being ok for leather. I would still use a leather conditioner too, but that should work ok in a pinch and might slow the rubbing issue you were having. Definitely don't spray it right on leather.

Edit: Nevermind about the leather comment. I was checking their website and saw this: A water-based formula is pretty unlikely to be water resistant... And here's the obligatory product shot:

I don't plan to use their stuff on the leather seats. I've used Meguiar's Gold Class though and it worked very nicely. The seats are somewhat slick but that's fine. It keeps me from rubbing on them getting in/out of the car. They are definately softer though I cna tell you that much.

Get Pinnacle Leather Conditioner. It is AWESOME! I believe Dan has a little bit... Not sure if he's tried it yet, though. How's the Pinnacle Liquid Souveran?
