I have a CB Radio that I've had for a while, looking to put it into my 99 Aurora.. just I can't figure out where!? In my other cars, there was always a little space.. below the stereo console in my Taurus, by the dash in my Corsica.. but the Aurora it seems it'll always be in the way. I tried in the center console.. and wouldn't ya know, it would fit but at the very bottom on the back they slant the console, so it sticks up about an inch to far. I realize a smaller CB would probably do the trick but common now . Any suggestions?

Is it too big for the center console?

oh, well, that slant is empty space I believe. It's for the vents in for the rear passengers. I'm sure you could cut into it to make it fit. Though you said it was too tall as well... Then, is it too big for the glove box?

I don't think it would be to big for the glove box, but that's highly inaccessible while buckled into a car seat when you're only 5'8-5'9.
Empty space huh..

Yeah, I'm annoyed by the slant as well.. if I had any mechanical inclinations I'd redirect the air from the rear vents through that slant and into the center console - nice cold place for things to store using the A/C

Yeah.
Man, they just don't give you any room to do anything in this car hehe. I about had a heart attack trying to find the washer fluid under the hood. Laugh.

There is a CB radio wherein all the controls are in the mic. The radio itself can be put in the trunk. Then you run a cable into the passenger area that has a female jack on the end. That can be mounted on the dash or the console. The mic cable plugs into that. It's a Cobra CB, which is a good one. I used to do a lot with CB radio in the 1970s & 1980s. To see that remote control CB, go to www.radioshack.com and enter part # 21-1607 into the search bar. ___________________ GM!!! BRING BACK OLDS!!!

It depends on how your using it, but if you just stay on 19 and set the squelch high, you could mount it down on the "transmission hump" below the center console. It's where I kept my CB when I used one in the 80's because I used it only for Bear reports.

Back in the 1970s & 80s I was doing a lot of driving in Upstate NY & the New England area. The CB network was extensive back then, and I would be hearing about cops with radar 10 miles away from the point that I was at. Are CBs still in wide use on the Interstates now?

By truckers for sure, and to the same effect. They don't like four wheelers all that much, but will talk if you know the lingo and respect their position on life and the road. I drove a pickmeup so I got a modicom of respect. On occation I would tell them I was a dispatcher in my four wheeler Honda just to p*** them off (they hate dispatchers even more than Jap four wheelers).
