My wife's 2002 Aurora (13500 mi) has wet carpet in the driver's side rear. We've had it about 6 weeks and this is the first time we've noticed water. Then again, it's only the beginning of hurricane season...
I searched the board for water leak problems and didn't find any that involved the interior. Anyone ever have a problem like this?
thanks kevin

If it has a sunroof, get the drains checked for it, they may be plugged. Also, check around the windows and doors (run a hose on them). If it's not, it may be coming from the front, around the trunk, it can be very tricky and could get expensive but check the obvious first. Good Luck. My mom's '91 Park Ave Ultra had a nasty water leak that was coming from inside the firewall and air intakes for the climate control. It took 2 weeks to find it and about $1500 to fix it.

I should have said no sunroof.
I'm working on a letter to GM Certified Used Cars, to see if they'll work with the dealer to take the car back. We've had it 6 weeks and it's been in the shop 5 times. We just sent the first payment to GMAC today!!

check the bottom of all your doors to see if they're wet too. There is a known problem to Bonnevilles that the water sheild just behind the door panel sometimes comes loose allowing water to enter the vehicle. you have to think of everyway water could enter the car and trace down where it could be coing from. Check to make sure nothing else is wet..

I hope it works out for you no matter what the resolve. Once I got my car "over the hump" of repairs it was fine. It did take a little while and a few $$ to get it there though.

I have/had a problem with water in the interior too. But I have a classic, dunno how much they're in common but, I replaced my remoldings and rear window molding. I noticed that the water was coming in underneath the battery area panel. My moldings were badly warped from the FL sun. The right top corner of the rear window piece was completely poped out. Same for the right front area near the windsheid. Installed the new pieces so far and no problems. (Fingers crossed, knocking on wood).

i read that one guy's wheel wells were cracked. the crack went right to the trunk and soaked that fuzzy liner. it was visible with the fuzzy liner removed and the wheel removed. i'd take the liner out just to let it dry and while you're at it, inspect the area where the water comes from.
in the true DIY spirit he located the crack and sealed it with exterior caulking. $2 of caulking and 30 minutes of time. i would do this if it occured on mine considering mine came from a small dealership with no warantee. yours is supposed to be certified so i don't know...
