I have tried just about everything to get my driver's seat ANY cleaner and while a few products have done SOMETHING, nothing works like good old saddle soap.
It does take a little time but cleans very deep. Now I just need to apply a conditioner and I feel the seat will look as good as it can.
Just for the heck of it, I tried the saddle soap on my driver's seat belt too. It's always been pretty grubby lookin'. This stuff even cleaned the seat belt that I've tried all kinds of detergents, soaps, chemicals, etc. with no or little improvement.

Saddle soap is pretty old-school. Not that this makes it bad, but there are more advanced products for cleaning leather out there. The big thing for me is saddle soap is alkaline, and so you need to make sure you really get it all off the leather. However, if it works for you, then that's all that matters. And it's been around a long time as a leather care product.

That's good to know -- But I have tried sooo many things in the past to no avail, especially on my seat belt. I was so happy that it worked so well.
Any suggestions for conditioner after the saddle soap?

I've used Lexol which is a great conditioner, and very good at softening leather. I use Pinnacle leather conditioner usually because it smells really good. I've also use Meguiar's Gold Class Leather Cleaner/Conditioner which was fine. Mother's makes one that is supposed to be quite nice too.

Jim, I bought mine at the local grocery. It's in the shoe polish section. Give it a try, I think it works great, and has a nice, clean smell to it

If you have any leather furniture that came with a cleaning and maintenance kit, that works really well. I used my moms leather cleaner and conditioner when I first bought my car to help remove the smoke smell . Yeah, she had been smoked in. But the smell is completely gone and it really made it look nice. But Im going to assume thats a more expensive route if you dont have any laying around.

When I bought my Aurora, they told me they had had it detailed. What they did is coat the embedded dirt on the seats so it was a mess. I gave up and had a detailer clean it - man they were terrible and now look absolutely [glow=red,2,300]NEW[/glow]
I am not sure what it was that he used, but he filled a coke bottle with it for me to take home. It cleaned everything... vinyl chairs etc. so I guess now I can protect the leather that has been cleaned properly.
