I won an auction for seats that are not in perfect but good condition. My front seat is ripped so this one is not.
But then this guy not too far from me in Vegas is parting out his whole car and no one is bidding on it for $500. the auction for the seats was $199 plus $150 shipping. but the guy that is parting out his car has black leather interior in perfect condition. i wonder if it would be easy to just use his whole interior for my car and just pay the extra $150.
would it be easy to remove the dash and panels to install it?

The first time doing it would be a little challenging, as you wouldn't know where every screw or clip is. Nevertheless, I can't see it taking more than 6 hours or so. It sounds like fun actually!!! If you decide to do it, let me know if you need a hand - I'm always down to cruise to Vegas, and I'm thinking of picking up that guy's rims anyway.

I worked for a auto trim and interior shop for a while and I did a lot of interior restorations and what-not, and I can tell you from experience that it is pretty easy to swap interiors. Keep in mind, I did it for a while, day after day, but still its not that challenging

Congrats!!! I see you're the high bidder right now. If you win it, how are you going to get it back to Cali since the motor is blown?

...and on that car he said it's not coming with those rims - is it coming with any rims at alll? It may be more than $1,000 once you finally get the car (delivery, etc...), though you could just call up your AAA-Plus and get them to tow it, saying it broke down

i think he is including the stocks. im thinking of either getting it towed or having someone with a truck haul it here. he has assured me that the interior is perfect. i think i can do everything from the floor to the roof. just the dash will take some effort. i might just tranfer my interior to this one and save this and try to get it fixed in time.

I hate last minute bidder, OR the people that set up that auto-bid stuff, so if someone overbids them it automatically bids $2.50 over the last highest bid....its dumb because you dont even need to be online to win the auction...its like cheating!

I used to do that back in the day before people had fast internet (and I did - since 1996 , people used to "snipe" in the last minute. I used to snipe in the last couple seconds because the page would refresh instantly Now it's a whole other world... and I've stopped buying from ebay for the most part.

That's the thing will ebay, there's almost always this going on. Just bid the maxium amount you'd pay for the item and let the proxy bidding do its thing. If it goes over, then it was too much. Our ebay account is from 96 and AOL is from 94. Mac, it's funny how "high" speed internet is now slower then back then. (At least for me)

It's only gotten faster for me... back home lately it's capped at 3mbps down/512 (or maybe 768k?) upstream... and at my father's house it can go up to 5-7mbps down Certainly a lot faster than back then... also, my old Pentium computers slowed it down back then too. When I upgraded from 75mhz to a new 166mhz computer, the internet got way faster But perhaps you think of it as faster back then because web pages were SO tiny, that they were basically instant via cable... but now webpages have grown in size a lot, so no longer instant.

True, also factor in for me that I usually get an awesome d/l speed of 110k/s usually and the max I've ever seen at the apt. complex I live was 450k/s. I've seen 2mbps back home on my parent Comcast highspeed.

Here at college it's amazing... I've seen 10-15mbps Though averages around 7 or so, never lower than 5mbps... so yeah, broadband internet is getting lots faster.
