It seems that my 01 has an unusually bad fogging problem. No matter what I do, my side windows always fog up. It will get to the point that there is so much condensation on the inside that I got frost on the inside! I've tried RainX Anti-Fog and still nothing. The windows are clean inside and out and still they fog. I've tried using the A/C to help dry the incoming air, but still no luck. Has anyone had this problem/ been able to fix a problem like this? HELP! I HATE SCRAPING THE INSIDE OF MY WINDOWS!!!

Is your 'recirculation' button on? If not, is it possibly stuck in the recirculate position? This will most definitely fog up the inside.

ahh00, do you drive with your mouth open? Kidding, of course. Actually, it can be quite dangerous to drive like this.

(light is not on) I will check on my way home tonight and see what happens when I push it. Never know...the light could be burnt out. More updates tomorrow!

Heater core could be going bad, sending too much moisture into the cabin.....Hope not

In damp weather, my Aurora has always had slightly foggy windows on the inside. I just mean a slight haze that never seems to completely clear... defrost helps, but doesn't get rid of it completely.

Glad I live in FL, I rarely have to deal with frost on the outside of the car (like once or twice a year) let alone the inside.

or maybe the recirc door is stuck I think you may be right tjm. I turned the temp up to 90 on the way home and heard what sounded like a vacuum that went up in pitch like an air bladder that is a little slow to move. I left it on 90 for the rest of the 25 minute trip home and SURPRISE!! most of the moisture inside went away by the time I got home. I'll bring the issue up the next time I take her in as I have an extended warranty that covers the heater core as well as the rest of the climate control system. However, I am still open to suggestions on how to fix the fog. It doesn't seem like something that should be happening in the first place.

Something has to be wrong.. mine doesn't have that problem at all. Definately take it in under warranty. They should fix you right up. My guess is that the AC compressor isn't kicking on (thus not drying the air out.)

i have a 2001 that also has condensation problems though not to the level you speak of. It is just zeroed in on the back window. When I purchased my car I found about a half inch of water in the wheel well for the spare tire in the trunk. Since I removed the water I have not had it happen again but you may have some water that has made its way in and thus causing condensation issues---check the spare...

Setting the heat at 90* it's not surprising that the windows would clear up. Warm air can hold far more moisture than cold air so there you have it; the recirc door may be stuck.
Def have it checked if you have the x warranty. If all things are working correctly and you still have the fog issue then check your trunk as suggested above (I had that prob too).
That Damp-Rid stuff I use is great too. 'Helps remove incidental moisture like from damp carpets etc (snow rain). I had a bad musty smell after my trunk leak and Damp-Rid is what took away the smell.

Any odor of coolant inside the car?

The spare tire compartment is bone dry. There is a little bit of a musty smell every once in a while. It fogs badly when I turn the A/C off. Maybe there is water trapped somewhere in the climate control system. No smell of maple/antifreeze. I had that problem in my '77 and will never forget that smell. It Still fogs up no matter if the temp is set to 70 or 90. I hope there's something wrong. That way it can be fixed and I don't have to pay the diagnostic fee. Only the warranty deductible. What a pain!

also make sure the evap core drain isnt plugged causing water to back up into the case and spill into the interior...moisture on inside is usually a sign of water intrusion somewhere..

Good point, tahoesport. This is a common problem.

Where do I look? I came from driving a '77 Delta 88 and have great knowledge about cars but I have nearly no idea where things are located on newer cars. (Except the obvious stuff) The evap core drain sounds like a good thing to check!
