I have a 95. Sometimes the button on my shifter does not push in so I can put the car into gear. I have to get a bit aggressive sometimes to get the thing into reverse. Then sometimes it works like new. Anybody have a clue on this one ? And yes, I am pushing down on the brake when I am trying to put it into gear.

What do you mean by "getting aggressive?" Do you have to push the button in hard or something else? When you push the button in, push down on the shifter to see if that helps. I noticed if the lock pin is worn, it wouldn't shift out of park at all. Or, if you want to get crazy, take the shifter off and try to shift it without the shifter. Pull the U-horn pin from the front of the shifter, then lift up. Becareful not to pull it too far to damage the power tranny button wires.

I had this happen. There is a little plastic piece that releases the shifter. Mine broke 2 summers ago making shifting nearly impossible.
Dealer fixed it fast and for low cost.

Thanks for the tips guys. What I mean by getting aggressive is kind of pushing and pulling and the shifter, then the button will push in. I will try pushing down on the shifter when I push the button. I should probably take it to the dealer, but am afraid of what they will want to charge.
