I am going to look at a 1998 tomorrow so tell me what you think:
The 1998 Aurora I am going to look at is a Pearl White (chrome embleming which I personally perfer) with two tone tan (oh yeah Jim, I went there…LoL) heated leather seats, dual lumbar and 8 way positioning controls. Also, a stock moon roof and factory tint. It’s equipped with a full Bose system with a Bose 12 disc changer in the trunk and a single disc CD and Cassette Bose System in the front. It’s also the infamous and elusive Autobahn package.(yay) 56k miles. It looks like it has an antenna for a phone on the back but did 98s come with a factory phone? Also, it’s got the compass in the rearview Oh man do I love that (yeah yeah I know all of them after 97 came standard with that but I don’t care LoL)

My 98 didn't come with a phone, the onstar system was an option though. Sounds like a winner, all the goodies on it.
Good luck

I haven’t taken it for a drive yet, that’s tomorrow but from what I poked around at yesterday it looks like it’s going to be a great car! The aren’t even any scratches anywhere on the body I think with a good cleaning it’d be a real beauty anyway if it works out and is a solid car then really the only things I’d really like to do is re tint it… (Since I am use to my 4% tint) although I think I would go to the legal limit or a couple points over all around, and look into a new set of chrome rims unsure of what style something subtle and not to in your face, but that will compliment the car… and I would be fully happy… but those are things that don’t need immediate attention… of course as far as real mods go (which I will only do if it’s up to par mechanically) it would be a corsa exhaust (potential pipe dream)
Anyway I haven’t even bought the car yet, but hey the last Aurora I wanted I got… LoL

I totally agree with you scotty Jim could rock that car... LoL Yeah well it looks like you can keep your car Jim because the rora was a bust. As beautiful as it was inside when we took it for a test drive and the brakes we super loud and metal to metal. after about a mile and a half we could smell them.... that wasn't event he worst of it sadly because that we could have dealt with... when Joe crawled under the car both sway bars were broken... err... I am so aggrevated because I really loved that car. It was so nice and all the opts I wanted....
We also went and checked out a 99 "polo green" which just looked like a metallic flaked emerald which was great too had some body work but it was well done, it wasn't an Autobahn but my really no there was it didn't haver heated seats or the Bose package....

heh...nope.
Amanda, seriously I would get the price of the car way down based on its condition, brakes are EASY! I've done all four corners with performance brakes. Do the suspension, that one is to good to pass up isnt it?

I wondered about that too, but to be quite honest, I've driven my dad's 90,000 mile aurora, babied to no end (still looks brandnew everywhere, including leather seats), the motor makes no weird noises, and accelerates has hard as ever. My car has 150,000 miles on it (rounded up), and my leather is worn in, the UV Rays getting through the sunroof opening baked the center console, and there was miscelaneous scratches and small tears in the leather. But, surprisingly, my engine is just as strong as my dad's car, if not, then stronger, (airbox mod ) and autobahn too.. but nonetheless, sometimes when people get tired of the car, they let the cosmetic things start to slip, and just keep the performance in tip-top shape.

Yeah, well I don't really think that was the case with this car. The fact that both Sway bars were rusted severly and snapped (both sides) Make me really uncertain about the car. It's not worth dishing out the money for junk... Sway bars arn't things that just snap now and then... the car was obviously abused... also to prove my point further the front end had been repainted... it was done well and may not have been caught by the average eye but Joe is an expert when it comes to automobiles and he picked it out immediatly.
