Lovely cars! The Final 500 is awesome. Beautiful home! I love the brick walkway. Great pics! The water left over from the wash gives me an idea, always hose down the asphalt before the pic, really brings out the beauty. But I must ask, is that tree dead or is it suppose to look like that?

Thanks for the compliments. The tree is supposed to look like that.
I realized something else yesterday. I have always thought the trunk on the '01 opened too harshly and it doesn't do that on the 500. My guess is the spring tension is the same and the '01 pops open much faster because the trunk is aluminum on the 4.0s in '01. I think Olds thought they would sell more 3.5s than 4.0s so that's how they engineered it. The weight difference seems to be enough to make the difference.

Actually they do. They are rear fog lights and are contolled through that switch. I once saw one go down the road with them on on a clear night and they are quite bright.

Just noticed, another New Jerseyite! (Shows my keen powers of observation, not) The spring round up could be impressive.

Rear fog lights are a European thing - makes sense that people should see you from behind in the fog.

The only difference the final 500 has over rugulat 04 auroras is custom badging and custom paint. The engine is the same.

I'm an architect Steven, I notice things like houses, and driveways and buildings With the 500s you also get embroiderd badging on the seats, the STS rims and a booklet commemerating the fact that you own a piece of Oldsmobile history. Many with envy, few will own

Great looking pair!! You forgot to dry off the CE, though... Hey, so maybe you already answered this, but how do you drive each? Does the Final 500 just stay in the (very roomy looking) garage? Or do you drive one, your wife the other? Oh, in addition to rinsing down the foam, another trick is to swap in the front license plate filler for the picture. It gives the car a cleaner look, and also allows you to wash behind the license plate.

Robert,
My wife uses the '01 as a daily driver. I normally drive a '97 Ram pickup because of the off roading I do. I need something to pull the quads and dirt bike. I couldn't bring myself to use the Aurora for that. The 500 was bought because the truck is now over 100,000 miles and I just had to get something since the mileage was piling up; at least that's how I justified it to the wife.
So the '01 goes in the left and 500 in the right garage. I have not had it out in the rain yet with a litlle over 1,000 miles in four months.
I know the pictures aren't perfect, I'll do better in the spring. I just wish the sun was out so the shine would really show.

The pics are just fine. I think the fall colors show off the cars to great advantage.
And yes Steven, it was me commenting on your driveway. I was most surely in envy of your lovely neighborhood. Forgive us poor peasants the few slings we launch at the castle.
